secondary growth spurt question

I have 3 aurora indica going on their 9th week in flower (8 week strain). they are in soil and have been under a 400w hps for about 6 weeks then i realized i had 2 bloom spec T5 fixtures (10k lumens each) that were not being used so i threw em in there to help out for the end of ripening and any new growth.
There are a decent amount of amber trichs on the older calyxes and leaves (40 amber / 60 cloudy) but I have noticed a lot of new calyxes and white hairs coming out of all the buds.
The leaves are mostly yellow now as a result of flushing with ph'd water and sometimes molasses for the last 2 weeks.
I keep thinking they are ready to harvest but then notice more and more new growth so which leaves me with a couple questions:

How long do secondary growth spurts typically last?

Will the new growth dilute the already staggering amount of ripe trichs with too many new trichs?

so i just read over that and the second question sounds kinda dumb / obvious but i thought i read that somewhere on another site... seems like there would be no such thing as too many trichs

I see lots of white hairs that have not changed color...

Usually indica's take about 60 days to mature.

So, Its kinda strange that its taking this long.

Whatever the case, I would wait til I see at least 60%+ plus of the hairs turning brown before I'd cut her down...

In all reality, Its a good thing, That means your buds will fatten up..even more

Sounds like a great problem to have! My guess is(and this is a guess), is that the T5 has some blue,white spectrum(thats not a guess) in it and thus has triggered some new growth(thats the guess!). Never saw it myself but I am going to be regenerating and I will be using florescent T5 lighting to give it more of the vegetative spectrum, more that the harvest spectrum of my HPS. Just a guess though, but seems right. But that is some good looking shit! I wouldn't be worried about it! Good luck!!!

thanks for the insight, im thinking your right, more light = better chance for growth. I am going to let them go for another few days at least and keep an eye on em.
In the mean time, what do you think about feeding them anything? i was thinking some molasses wouldnt hurt but do you think its too late to add a bit of KoolBloom? just a pinch...

nahhh..Id water em maybe one more time, ..Then, Id let em go all the way til the soil is bone dry..then Harvest.

1 more question for those of you reading...
Do you chop the entire plant at once or take part by part depending on how ripe the nugs are?

cut the top flowers and watch the bottom flower a tad more be sure to cut in the dark of flowering
