anybody know of a good alarm that if triggered will send you a text and allow you to view your cameras from a computer etc?

I wish I would have read this a few weeks ago.First of all. You gonna wanna put a kicker on your door and a double side dead bolt.
Second. whats more heaty then have bars on your window? If they were there when you moved there thats ok but if your naibours see you putt bars up they are going to get curious.
I have another idea. How bout you put a stick in your window and pexi glass bolted on the other side! You can keep your windows open and no one can get in. And when people see open windows they dont think"grow op"
And a plus, if someone is trying to break in.. They can break the window but still cant get in !!
It'd be hard enough trying to explain a grow op, nevermind a grow op and a dead body lol.best security system a man can buy.....................people would be robbing the wrong house

Nicce dogs. Dogs are good for a head up. wake up call i mean.
I think its mostly getting into the house. A can of bear spray is handy to have around to spray people away.
How is anyone gonna know you have a grow op in the first place? unless you get followed,snitched, your mouth, noise/smell, heating moving stuff in. I prefer boxes over garbage bags. And another thing is your garbage and how you keep your house. Dont make it look to plain and dont leave your christmas lights up in summer time haha.

Yeah no shit don't go throwing your trimmings out in your regular garbage. I take mine three apartment complexes over and dump it in a black bag in the dumpster so even if its found they wont know it came from my complex

Yea. Example. If a window opens from left to right. Put a small piece of wood like 2"x.5"x2' to obstruct your widow from opening left to right. I prefer to keep it fully shut. that way you cant lift the piece of wood up with a coat hanger. Now if you broke the window you would hit plywood. Now if your not growing in that room.. why you would you have plywood up? This is where strong pexi glass is involved. You can see through it.

Yeah i was gonna say something similar to this. Keep in mind as far as i know, VERY FEW people with concealed firearm licenses. Have been convicted of gun related crimes (my cop buddy said NONE but ya). There is a stipulation in my state where you cannot shoot them in the back.
As far as IR goes if there is an air gap between a window and your grow op you wont get detected PERIOD
Best way to keep from being watched is to regularly take different paths home/ "to the office".
Ps do you actually have Hydroponic stores in states/countries that growing is illegal? we didnt get any in my city until the state legalized it (trust me its a big city)

Im from vancouver and these shops are called garden supplies. There is alot of medical here to.
Im just saying everybody gets caught slipping. What good is a gun when your not home? Even dogs will run and hide.
Sometimes you just have to take a loss. Your lucky you have cops to protect your growops if your medical.
Im just trying to spread ideas around this website. im not here to see who is the toughest. Cause anyone can say anything on here. Anybody can get a gun if they have the doh. I go hunting and dont even keep a gun at my grow house. Its more of a charge then the marijuana no matter the size of the garden. Its better to have back up around the corner. with fullys.
Im from canada. the goverment takes gun seriously up here. Growing not so much. Average bit for growing dope is 9 months probation and up to 2 years max. Most of the bud importated down there is from B.C. Im pissed off in my city right now. Prices are crazy low. I can get a pound of triple A for around 2 grand. 2 years ago a pound went for 2500-2800 in the summer. The main exporter got pinched. He flew choppers of BC bud. Im talking million dollar drops. He was trading the grass for snow. He is doing thirty years in texas right now.
Now there is so much bud being grown and not getting exported. BUT the Province is installing new smart meters that detect theft.. So this means all the Big ones are gonna shut down. Or buy a generator. Pay for the power... But the cost will rise and more money is getting dishout for bills and less big shows. Probly get it back to 2200 and up range. Which is good for the medium size grow.
Really you guys just have to watch out for the DEA. i would rather get robbed then get busted.

Before anybody pulls down my block i can see them on the camera which are always recording. I have family members up and down my streeet Starting with the first house you see I get phone calls all day long when i am not home. If you step in my drive you better look behind you because somebody is already a few steps ahead. And if you get past them then anything goes. Retired family members are a gem especially when they love mary jane more then me.

This is why we're given such a bad name in the media and from the public in general. If it comes to my requiring to have a gun then I'm not going to grow anymore. I realise that there's assholes out there that prey on regular folk just wanting to grow some herbs for themselves and the law always on the snoop either with sneaky neighbors or door-to-door salesmen and hydro guys, but what it comes down to if you grow on your own property, keeping it "mum" is the way to go. I am all for legalization, have been for years, most common sense people are as well when you look at it. If you get busted merely put up the defence that you're growiing it for "personal use only". If say, a bunch of cowards bust open the door and threaten you, let them take the greenery, after all it's just a plant. You can grow again and again and again.

Also, when I used to buy lights at Home Depot or ask where the in-line fans were, I often think they knew. Why I always pay cash for my equipment. They ask a lot of question at the hardware store too.

Two really easy things to do that most people over look. Change out the screws in the face-plates on your doors. those 3/4" screws only secure themselves into the pine door jam, which a 4 year old can break, use some 2 1/2" - 3" screws so they anchor into the door frame. You ever see those videos with the cops pounding away on a door, you get the idea. If you have the cheap slider type windows that most houses have. They are so easy to break into, push up the window out of it's track. To avoid this either slide something 1/2" x 3/4" to rest on top of the window or add a couple of screws to the top of the window frame so it can't be lifted out unless you open the window.

Thats not true. Thats mainly towards rats. BC is full of grow ops. Some people drive around naibourhoods looking for grow houses.
Depends where you live i think. USA is known for snitches. People rat out to save themselfs. Around here if your a rat you get smashed. And in jail you get check off unit and sent to PC. People are scared to rat out. So many people grow around here so its not a big deal.

you can have all the cameras you want, all the reinforcment behind the doors and windows, but if your getting raided then it's just going to hurt you. If it's a thief then, woo hoo you got their picture and a video of it... now what? Call the cops and tell them your house got broken into and the only thing stolen was your marijuana grow? Even if your legal I doubt you will be a high priority case. Not only that but if the cop that shows up to take the report just really doesn't like pot then he might call the DEA on his own with a tip that you are heavily secured and a "major" grower.

Hey at least i know where these thiefs hang out. Now i got a picture of them. Lets say my buds arent down yet around week 2 maybe. They come in and take nothing. Now if i didnt stick up my window and didnt have cameras How would i know if someone was in my grow?? Your the type of guy who gets his crop snakd cause your careless. Do you even put a deadbolt on your growroom? or do you not even lock your front door. If they cant get in you cant get robbed. aduh
