I see a lot of fishing for information going on on this site, and i see security breeches occurring. There was a thread here the other day asking people to reveal what jobs they had held down through the years, and people were responding to it with their entire work history. This work history can lead cops directly to you, jobs you have had get reported to state and federal agencies and are as unique as fingerprints!

i also saw a thread with some guy accusing a seed company of ripping him off, then the seed company rep came in the thread and asked him to pm him his info, to which the complaint-ant responded that he had pm'ed him the info. Don't you know that these sites run off of a database, and that those pm's are stored in that database? Any one with access to that database has access to all the pm's everyone sends, this includes the site owner, the geek who keeps the site running for the owner, the geeks who work for the hosting company this site uses, etc. So now all of those people have the guy who complains address!

People who use this site or similar sites should use a proxy to access it at all times, NEVER access it from your own ip address.

Any personal info you post on this site is wide open for law enforcement to use as they please.

If you are at all worried about getting busted, don't be stupid on here. Unless you use a proxy and do not give out ANY information which can be used to identify you, you are at risk for law enforcement and to a lesser extent rippers to find out where you live and bust you or rip you off.

wow you need mental help, thats a severe case of paranoia. if any cop wants to come after me for seeds and a plant then its a true waste of time. there are tons of other peoplle out there doing 1,000 times more than a person here

To your mind, cops coming after you is a waste of time, to them, its one more bust, cops live for busts, small or big. I am not overly paranoid, i am just the right amount of paranoid. Cops want busts and will go to any length to get them. Go ahead, ignore my advice, you will learn in time to be paranoid as well.

I post here because i DO feel safe, I use a proxy that masks my true ip address, and i do not give out tidbits of information that law enforcement can put together and get a fix on my location or identity with...

There's medical patients on this site as it was designed for, there's no way to pin point the medical patients from recreational growers on an internet forum......as long as you don't tell everyone you are not a medical approved grower.. Not like it's a big 'no no!' if you do anyway.

You're (supposedly) out in Peru. I'm in Canada. You gotta worry about drug territory. I have to worry about getting chased by the royal mounted police on their horsies. Not our problem, and Americans are safe if they be smart.

while i agree with the OP to an extent, i think if the cops want to bust you, the stuff u put on this site WILL NOT be the end all say all, as in if they want you, it doesnt matter if u post on this site or not, your already gotten.

I wouldn't be surprised if some law enforcement agencies tried to get personal info on people thru sites like these, but I'd doubt it. If they were to catch word that an individual is growing illegally, then I'm sure they'd go check it out. But to waste their time looking for individual growers when there are massive grows going on elsewhere seems pointless.

If that was the case then I would have been busted last year when I had my grow journal going on here... Since then I've stopped growing (illegally I might add). I'm sure the cops do patrol this site, but just like any other time (off of the net) they're only going after the BIG fish man. No cop wants to deal with the hassle of busting someone with one or two plants.

doesnt help much when your changing your address ever 11 months. makes it very hard to find someone

It's proabaly true that the cops aren't on here trying to gleam as much info as they can so they can put together cases against MJ growers, but if some pathetic, piece of shit scumbag who deserves onl;y bad things in life and a painful life and death, for some reason gets mad at you and give the pigs some false information and a link to your grow journal, for instance, that would be enough to start an investigation on you. And if they can link the journal to you, and you're illegal, they WILL arrest and prosecute you.

Yeah it was a thread I started... and there has never been anyone in recorded history to have the vague jobs I held... so I am sure they will nail me based on my burger king experience...

People don't realize that police look at cannabis, as a problem that's as bad as heroin. I've talked to cops that were just as relieved to bust a pot dealer, as they would be getting a crack dealer off the street. As people that have chosen a lifestyle of experimentation, we know that pot doesn't have the same effect as chiefing on a rock, but an officer that's been taught that pot is a schedule 3 drug, and has never tried it themselves (yes they're out there), will do as much to wipe out someone selling herb, as they would taking out a shooting gallery.

sVice officers will do anything it takes to get a bust, changing their style of dress, weight, hair etc... Going after people talking openly on the internet, is a lot easier than getting piercings, and cheaper than paying informants 50 dollars a pop.
