Security light

ok i got this security light, same thing as a street light, i have a metal halide bulb in it, it shines a orange looking color, my wife says pinkish color, i was wondering if you could set this light up in your grow room, hope this isnt a dumb question, been thinking on this for a while, i need to know soooo much, thanks

MH usually have a white light and HPS give an orange light. Well to answer your question, yes you can use it. Just need to match up a ballast to the size bulb your going to run. But to be honest with you why bother. You can buy a brand new matched setup for under a $100 now. You will spend at least that much on a ballast. If it has a ballast built in that you probably will need a 220v hookup. Just do some reading, and then read some more. You will get it working if your determined.
