seed ordering around christmas

seen a few mentions of seed ordering around the christmas mail rush
slower delivery times are a given, but some have mentioned this may be a 'safer' time to order with the huge mail volume
anyone notice a difference?
don't expect a definitive answer, just curious how many have seen their orders grabbed around this festive time of year

Logically they spot check a certain tiny percentage of packages and the more packages there are the less likely yours will be checked. But I think the chances are so small anyway, especially with stealth shipping, that I would say just order when you need them.

Well here in uk there has been postal strikes as well as more postal strikes to come over pay. The royal mail are really backed up as well, on tv absolute shit load of packages just waiting in depot.

If I where you, get your seeds now...

more postal strikes to come, royal mail backed up, christmas rush = DISASTER FOR GETTING SEEDS

it makes sense that you would be less likely to get caught when the postal service was busy.

are any seedbanks running a holiday season sale?

thinking of adding one more indica to my seed collection
nirvana's white rhino looks tempting
growdoc(smaller breeder) has angel dust and another indica strain called ADHD
i'm pretty well stocked with sativa's, just too many damn strains out there

Ok, so, I work for one of the Federal shipping services ( which one will remain a secret). We cannot 'Slow up' packages. If the seed bank said it would take longer. That is probably because everyone feels 'safer' during the busy season. So they all order at once, thus leaving the seed bank busy as fuck! If a customer pays for a certain type of shipping method, that is the standard. It might come later at night. But still on schedule.. Hope this helps.

it's another bit of info, certainly worth my +rep
i've done 4 orders so far, all were good
but if you can trim a little bit of the small risk on a seed order, why not?

I plan on ordering around the holidays as well. I've heard from a friend in the postal service that they only check suspicious packages during the holidays. I'm with you man....It may take a few days longer but I want to cut as much of the risk out of ordering as possible. Good luck bro.

If ordering with post office, I will say this. The guarantee shipping is for Registered mail only! Those packages have to be signed for, and are held accountable to the mailman. So if u have a dick for a mailman, he could, but 97.5% of the time not care. * note, Registered mail needs a signature.
Most seed shops use the post office anyway. The packages are always CDs or Dvds so there fine. There is no Super Smelling machines. There are xrays that are used for suspicius ones , leaky, wet, dripping, or just plain smell. Order up! Just use a different name on the shipping label.

It was said on tv here in uk, to send your xmas cards out now :|

There is still ppl working at the royal mail, however not as many as some are striking which will obviously slow down your packages by ALOT, the royal mail are planning on drafting a load of temps for xmas period I heard today, so you might be ok but this year has to be one of the worst years I have noted with royal mail, we in the uk call them the big royal FAIL.
