seed starting mistake

It's been a while since I've grown.

I put five seeds in water for 24 hours.

Then removed them and put on wet paper towels before bed last night.

Forgot to check them this morning.

Ran home at lunch to check and paper towels are completely dry. Went ahead and put them into cups with wet coco.

Chances of sprouting since the paper towels went dry are what? These were my only seeds of these kinds. Should of started with my vial full of roms.

If chances are slim I'll start other kind of seeds, if there's a good chance I won't. I have extremely limited space so can't get too many going at once.

Thanks

I have ditched the paper towel part now. I just pop them in a shot glass with water and wait till the tap root comes out. Sometimes it takes a day or sometimes three days. Then I put them into jiffy pallets that have had most of the moisture squeezed out. Then it goes into a cheap little plastic house thing on top of the water heater. Been working sweet as :)

If you have one of those generic seed starter kits ( sounds like what you have anyway ), just put those seeds straight into the jiffy pellets, no need to fuss with shot glasses of water and potentially breaking a tap root. Just my opinion.

Yeah I don't have any of that. Just coco and cups. Was using a spray cloner in the end so had been even longer since I used seed

I start all mine in coco in tiny 3 oz paper dixie cups. To avoid damp off don't handle seeds/seedlings. It's safer to put them in substrate and then transplant. Oh the only other thing I used was tap water.

I keep them in the dark on top of one of my flourescents for warmth in the winter.

You forgot to keep the paper towel in a sandwich bag, paper towel pkg in bag kept warm and dark.
I soak for 6 hours after the seed sinks then put in wet paper towel.
Taproot in 12-48 hours, as soon as it shows I place in Rock Wool and keep in a humidity done 82 degrees 80% RH.

Here are pics of the last seed I sprouted, 25 days old, feeding 450 PPM, 5.9 PH.
Shot glass and the paper towels till tap root shows and into rock wool.
Bless,

Nice and compact. I forgot I had rockwool for once. I can't touch it unfortunately. I can't touch cotton balls or similar textures. But bought to try anyhow. I tried to adjust their ph and the whole mat (200 1x1) came apart into individual plugs. Didn't feel like touching them so said screw it.

Looking for a job so cleaned up. Been hard on my anxiety for sure. Another waiting thing that sucks

The top of the coco never dried out and now appears to have mold I have new seeds I'm about to put into new pots but wasn't too know if there's anything I can do to risk these getting mold. Thanks
