Seed to soil to hydro.

How come 24 hour light? That would cost me $6/day - $180/mth. I mainly only use the 1000W for flowering at 12hrs/day and it's still lots.

The plants look good so they're liking it. :)

At 600 watt the room was too cold. I have a intake vent from outside, its winter here.
I blast it too 1000 watt and the temperature staying around 24 to degree 30 °c I'm paying .08 per kilowatt. Works out to be $70. My goal is to grow 2 lbs from this crop.

I need to buy another timer for the fan. Or rearrange to set up . when I ge the money so I can convert 18/6 lighting to save money buy yes I agreed with you its seem a bit wasteful.

If you have suggested I'm open to hear .

My room gets too cold in the winter being underground in an unheated crawl space that is 10x30x7'h. The room was built by the previous owner as a cold storage room and has insulated walls on two sides but two are just concrete covered with plywood so very cool as is the floor which is painted concrete. I have a 400W going in there 18/6 now and it barely hits 70F but there's just one plant that is almost finished being cropped and hopefully going to reveg for me. I'll be adding a few smaller plants soon to veg for a month then likely switching to a 600W to flower them all.

I use an electric heater for the night cycle that I have on a baseboard thermostat so it only comes on when the temp drops and is a lot cheaper than running my light 24/0.

Quick update. Week 1 all my plants were turning yellow. I kept adding more food and realized they were getting nutrient burn. Water flush and now week 3 they look like they ready to go into flowing stage. I'm going to be working on my room make some modification.

My 1000 watt ballast had blown up a few days ago and I send Amazon a email waiting back from them. I have extra 600 watt kit I'm using right now.

Week 4 still using 600 watt. I cant talk to anyone about warranty exchange on Amazon becuase of the coronavirus. So in the mean time I'm stuck with this. I have now took some clones from my flowing plants and stuck them in my cloner for my next grow.
