Seedling leaf/growth troubles

Hey everyone,

Alright, so I'm having some seedling troubles. The pics below are of some auto bombs same age, same growing medium and same watering schedule the bottom left seedling has been yellowing and slow in growth. It's yellower then the pics my camera just auto edit's shit to make it look better. The seedling on the bottom right would have to be twice the size being the same age. Iv tried a mineral solution on the struggling seedling but that didn't do anything. Just wanted to some help to fix the problem.

Cheers

Hey there, just wanted to give some advice. What kind of soil are you using?
You might wanna add some perlite and help with the drainage so you dont cause root rot or drown the roots.

Hey, the top layer is just potting mix so I could put my germinated seeds in. Underneath that is a mixture of vermiculate, potting mix, worm castings, bit of blood and bone, lime and some slow release fert. The mix has really good drainage so I'm not really worried about root rot.

Caliki has a point. Many "potting soils" have a lot of wood chips...that makes soil acidic very fast...how's pH?
From experience with seedling, it's either "hot soil" = too good for seedlings, or pH issues.
Flush with pH'd water if it gets really worse, otherwise let it get used to it's environment and see what happens.
Hope it helps.

This part jumped out at me: different sized plants, same watering schedule. BIG NO-NO! Smaller, less vigorous plants drink less water than their bigger, more vigorous brethren. ONLY water when a plant needs it, not when it's neighbor does...

Thanks for the help 2xM, I will check the ph but Iv got 10 seedlings at the moment and none of the others are showing any sign of this. I always stick my finger in the soil fairly deep to check the moisture before watering, Iv done a couple grows in my time so basic stuff like that Im not too worried about.

Yeah, lol, it is pretty basic stuff indeed :)
A buddy of mine sprouts them only in vermiculite, says he hasn't had a problem yet.
Haven't tried it though. One thing that bugs me are the imminent red stalks on seedlings, could mean lot's of things as it could mean absolutely nothing!
Has it gotten worse?

Hmm, Il have to try the vermiculite sometime as well!
Well I checked the PH and found that the soil is slightly lower then I would like it so I have fixed that. The original set of spiked leaves are getting worse it seems but Il see when it gets more developed and see if the yellowing happens in all the leaves.

Alright here's a new photo and as you can see it's getting worse on the lower leaves. Still need help fixing it, It's only happening to this plant not to any of the others.

This is one of the posts that made me join this forum. So simple yet so overlooked. Your problem is either/or: 1. too much water 2. ph too acidic 3. overfed. I have done this many many times. Common to the unpatient and those that may have no ph meter. Like I said, I have been there enough to teach me. Lesson learned. Easy to fix. And what everyone here said, get some great dirt. I love FF OF and HF.
Gotta laugh at myself here. Just saw the dates. I bump.
