Seedling leaf problem with pic

Hi All,

Attached is a photo of the leaves of my 2-week-2-day-old Jillybean (sativa dom) seedling. For the first two weeks she's been in a rockwool cube with nothing but water. All her leaves were the dark green you can still see in the middle of the leaves in the photo. Beginning around Friday I noticed that the leaves were getting lighter along the edges, and this continued to progress, with the dark part receding more and more into the center of the leaf.

So I figured it's time to give her some nutes, and yesterday I gave her her first dose. A 1/4 strength cocktail of AN's Micro, Grow and Bloom. For the Micro, I gave 1/4 the amount listed for young plants, and the Grow and Bloom 1/4 the amount listed for veg plants.

The way I've been watering has been simply dipping the cube in the water about halfway up the cube for a second. I did the same with the nute solution. I could tell by the weight of the cube that some had been absorbed, but it wasn't soaking wet.

24 hours later, and I don't see any change. In fact, I think the cotyledons are even yellower.

Advice? Thanks! And in general, if I've done the right thing, how long should it take for her leaves to go all dark again?

EDIT: Also, this is going to be a hydro grow -- I've been waiting for a root to poke through the bottom of the cube before putting her in the bubbler and under a 400W MH light.

there is no need to wait on the root, put it in. and you need to give it a few days, miracles dont happen overnight

Okay! Thank you! I wasn't sure about how long it takes, as I knocked her over early on and didn't think she'd make it, but she bounced back overnight, so I wasn't sure if it would be the same this time. I'll give it a few days. Thanks again!

You should have roots sticking out by now as big as it is are you over watering when watering maybe shake off some of the water you don't wanna squeez it to much shake it a few times:) Then let it dry out a few days at least! The other options did you pretreat the rock wool to 5.5 or how much are you feeding in ppms a little plant like yours 300 or 400 ppms you're using a meter right going by tsp and tbs it didn't work for me

Hi MrG,

Yes, I pretreated the rockwool to 5.5 and haven't been feeding any nutes until today. Not overwatering. I was letting the cube dry out a bit before adding water every other day or so. I went by the weight of the cube. She's a sativa, so I'm thinking she just has slow roots, and is taller than most. But she does have plenty of leaves, and she is two weeks old, so I put her in the bubble system today.

Should I take her out?

Get her in some seedling soil for sure at this point and no nutes I dont give mine unitl they are about 4-5 weeks with exception to voodoo juice for the roots.
