Seedling problem!!!

I planted a fem trainwreck seed my friend gave me about two weeks ago. I planted it in the soil and it germinated and popped up in two days, which I was quite shocked. It somehow ended up on the side of the pot -___-. But anyways, its been growing rather slow ever since, its been two weeks and I have not gotten true leaves yet, I believe if see them starting to form. Anyways, does anyone see anything wrong with my plant, or why it seems to be growing slowly. I water it when the soil is dry with a squirt bottle, its in MG with bone meal (Yes, I read recently that MG isn't the best soil). I have 150 cfl on it, about 4 inches away, giving off little to no heat, I have it on a heating pad with a fan blowing on it gently. Do you guys see anything wrong with the plant or any tips? I attached some photos

Thanks bud, your input helping a newbs first grow was quite helpful... In all seriousness, why even post that when it contributes nothing to the thread?

Replace this 150w with 2 23w, and cover this plastic cup with black tape or sth! :]
Place those 2 brand new cfls over 3-4 inches from the top of seedling and keep waiting!
Dont overwater it, i can see on your pic it's almost muddy there, use 2 table spoons of water each 48 hours for week or so, then rise up water dose a bit, but not much.
And dont ever spay u plant with water, it will cause burn!

Thanks bud! Will do! Question, when I spray the soil, about 6 hours later the dirt is bone dry, I stick my pinky down as well and it is dry. How comes the soil drys so quickly? the temp is 85.. is this too high?

Dont spray soil :) use spoon :p ye, deff to high, those small bastards are so sensitive, lower it to arroud 72 if u can.
Dirt is bone dry cuz yours light producez to much heat :) lower wattage=lower heat, slower drying. Pure and simple.
It's her time to produce roots, so they need air. To much water just stops them and can make em dead.
Keep it up Dude, gardening is awesome thing :]

Ok first, you need to get a few books and read them, cuz I have to agree with Cloudiology, you suck at growing...not because you can't or are not able to grow, but you already showed that you can not do your own research on this matter...second, if you had read anything about starting a youngling, you would know that 75F is ideal for veg, and not to give it too strong of light at first, and quit giving it so much water it looks like it's about to damp off (look it up...lol) you need to get the soil in the cup wet (not soaked) and let it set for 2-3 days so the soil can dry and the roots can stretch, cuz with the stretch and development of the roots the upper portion that you see will grow also...third, those little round leaves ((cotyledons=food/energy for seedling stage)) will feed it for the first few weeks so you don't have to water so often...

Thanks for the advice and criticism, I've already looked up damping off disease, but I thought since they way I had the light at the side, instead of the top because the chain wasn't long enough that's why the plant bent towards the light. Again, thank you.

Ahh correction...MG is some awesome soil, I can't stand people putting down a good (cheap) product cuz they can't grow and use the soil as an excuse :wall:
these pics are of plants in MG soil, MG perlite and MG nutes are being used...

Those are some fine looking herbs. Its good to know I didn't mess up on the soil part. Hopefully my plant will look that good, that is if my plant will survive lol.

But Rikmeister, these plants look too dark green and you can clearly see a burned leaf tip on this plant. Kind of toward the top, look hard. Need to flush or this will burn up from the MG!

I'm not a big MG fan, but one thing you can do with any medium intended for seedlings or clones, is to leach the soil with Ph corrected water, and let it dry once before ever using it. This removes excess nutes that the young-lings don't like.

Your dirt is too wet for sure. Do you have air moving? CFL...really? As has been pointed out, you need to study some.

I would at this time, get a spoon and carefully transplant keeping only a small amount of your saturated soil, and put it into a 4x4" pot full of dry soil. That should wick away the excess moisture in a couple hours. Get a small fan, even a computer fan (12v.) and get some air moving. You're going to need some lights too. Start with a shoplite, those twim 4' floro lights you see in garages. They are like 15$ at home depot. Get the right bulbs for it, or you will be completely wasting your time. You should be able to get the plant to about 6 or 7 inches high under a light like that. If you haven't saved enough for a proper light (MH or HPS), then you can at this time, start training your plant ubder the light using LST and some topping techniques. Realistically, you should be able to keep a very short, but reasonable healthy plant going under such a light for about a month and a half. After that, you need to upgrade. Plan and save your money, and whenever you have enough, upgrade. The only thing you really should buy brand new after the shoplite, are new bulbs for HPS and MH. Don't use used bulbs. No point in buying a 300 dollar ballast either when you can get a plug ready light system for a hundred fifty used.

I do currently own a 300 watt HPS light. My friend said I should wait until it gets it's true leaves to use it, or atleast some leaves, so that's what im going to do. My soil is now dry, I sprayed it a little bit, nothing like I did before. I have a fan on it now, set to medium instead of low. I'll let you guys know how it goes in a few days.

he's right for now. Let it pop 2 sets of true leaves, then start off at a foot or so away. You set height by feel. temperature.....
