No but once they break the soil and shed their shells they will need light. If you dont get them light and the light close enough they will start to stretch out and eventually topple over. Usually takes 2-5 days to break soil so you should be ok.
no it does not need light before it breaks through the soil.
iff they pop up before your lights arrive place them on window sill or a cfl if u have one they'll stretch
but u can bury th the stem when u repot
