i topped my current grow on it's 4th nodes; meaning when the 4th node came out i topped it. plants seemed fine. as for the leaves idk might be genetics. one of my plants has 2 tops that are growing 3 sets of leaves per node and all 3 plants where i topped it they all grew a 3rd or even a 4th node where it was topped. it wasn't fimmed it was topped. this is the first grow that i ever hit 9 leaves as well per node idk if it's because i vegged it longer then my first grow or what i ended up flowering it sooner then i wanted to just due to the height issues. i think it's just genetics/strain.
im sure you can top them already i think most people wait until they get more nodes to kind of reduce the stress since the plants are still young so they can handle being topped.
