hi i got given a few seeds from a mate the strains were
chernobyl
bigbud
pinapple chunk
lsd
blz

but have had alot of trouble with them falling over about halfway up the stem in the first couple of weeks of growing, ide say around 50% are doing it then they just die so i gave another mate who is very experienced with seeds and 4 out of 5 chernobyl fell over on him so it shouldnt be something i doing.
my lights are cfl's very close
he was using t8 fluro's which he always does very close

ive never had issues doing clones under these lights and the few that have lived are doing fine and are about 15cm tall and about ready to go under some better lights.

any ideas?

when my seedlings were falling over, i was usually over watering them, if not the temp might be too high, try raising the light a little bit like 3 or 4 (wide) fingers higher than what they are.
Are you spraying them or watering them? i would stop watering them and just spray them for afew days, if youre really concernd, you could always put them in a plastic cup and make them stand up straight by placing soil around them,(sink the root deeper in the soil) g'luck

if there's room in the pot... add more soil to the container/pot your using.

the more soil you add.. the more support the main stem will have.

I've had to do this before.. its never been a big issue though.

good luck.

peace.

just stick a chopstick next to it in the soil and loosely tie a twisty around it, this will support it until it has the strength to stand up on its own

This is similar to what I do. I place a stick (in this case a chopstick, but even plastic straws will do) on either side of the seedling, then use a twist tie as support. Hope this helps.

ive had them about 5cm away. then as they grow i raise them.

i tried putting more dirt after it fell over, also tried to stake them up with a tooth pick. but they just wilted and died!

no pics as i just threw them out when they died.

the soil was just moist i know not to over water.

every time with the bad ones the stem goes from think to thin about half way then back thick again. its the thin part that usually bends over.

once they start to stretch, or in your case when they are at the point where the stem is thick in some places and thin in other places, very carefully transplant them and bury the stem right up to its bottom set of leaves, i have had good luck doing this.

Be careful though, let the top of the soil dry out and gently squeeze the cup or pot that its in to loosen the soil up a bit. I popped alot of seeds that stretched and i come up with a 3 finger tiger claw kinda style way of grabbing the roots, plant and bit of soil in 1 clean go, hard to explain but im sure you get the idea...
