Was just wondering when you all prefer to transplant seedling into its final pot?

Generic answer would be to up pot it when the roots are established in the size it is in now. That can change based on photo or auto and the overall goals of the grow.

They are photos one has 4 nodes now and other has just two. One is 3 weeks old now and other 4 weeks old.

Depends on the size of the container and the size of the plant.
I transplant at 2 weeks from sprout and they look like this.

I start every seed, auto and photo, in 12 oz solo cups of BB light Mix and transplant into 3ltr air pots at 3 weeks....with couple decades of success with it, I've had no reason to change.

What is the final pot size you are aiming for? As others have said, you pot up once the roots have filled the current container. I like to get a really good root ball going in a solo cup, then dust with mycos and pot up to 1 gallon for a few weeks. Then it goes into the 7 gallon fabric pot for flowering.

Im gonna use 5 gallon pots for their grow in a 2x4 under tsl 2000

What are they in currently? You are likely good to pot up into a 1 gallon container for a few weeks to give the roots time to establish. Then into the 5 gallon for a week, then flip.

I amend my final pot with flowering amendments before transplant. By giving them a week before flip, the roots will start reaching the new soil around flip, and expand our from there during stretch.

There are many ways to accomplish the same goal, so find what works for you and adjust based on the results. Good luck!

If you have FEM seeds or cuttings, start them right in the final pot. The initial bigger pot size will encourage a more vigorous initial growth and will be the difference between having a flip ready plant at 4 weeks vs 7-8 weeks.

If you do the up pot method, it also stresses the plant and takes time to adjust to it. Could be a day or even a couple days if it's sensitive.

Imo the only reason to use 'solo cup' size is to start regular seeds so you can sex them prior to up potting so you're not wasting medium and space.

This pic, all these are 4 weeks old. Planted at the same time, from seed. Notice the 1 gal plants are nearly 3x the growth.
