Seeds first attempt

Hi guys
I'm after some advise in my journey to keep this growing weed thing going.

I have attempted to get seeds through allowing a hermie female to pollenate a regular female.

I can't be sure when the pollenation took place but I am now roughly 12 weeks into flower and that is counting from when I saw established buds not just when I flipped to 12/12.
My issue is the seed pods don't seem to be swelling and the few seeds that I have pulled off out of curiosity have been crappy flat looking husks around half the size of a normal seed.

My question is, will the seeds grow into proper seeds or is this just another balls up in my long list of balls ups and am I best to just chop it and smoke the lot

Any advise would be appreciated.

Do you have any pics of the seeds that you are questioning? It’s a little hard to tell based on the info and pics above. Are you sure you are pulling off seeds or bananas?

It's hard to get a good pic but the little white thing next to the green seed pod is the seed
That’s a pollen sac that eventually would have opened up and released pollen. You’ll find the actual seeds inside your bud, sometimes unseen until you actually break the bud down

You will find legitimate seeds in your buds when it’s time to smoke them. If you grow these seeds they will likely hermie as well
I've read so many things that really confuse me to be honest, I have read that seeds from a harmie are fine or that seeds that come from a plant that was pollenated by a hermie will be good and mostly female... So would you say I'm wasting my time either way and should just pull them? They have been going for 12 weeks and I have noticed nothing has changed in the last 2 or so weeks so I'm just wondering if they are just a waste of time now. I'm in Newzealand so getting seeds is not easy

Oh so should I chop it and have a look once dry? If its been 12 weeks would it be past the point were the seeds are devaloped and the bananas could be just because I've left it so long? I've read that that could happen?

Was about to say, you’ll probably have seeds in your bud, hermies are unpredictable, my dad always said don’t mess with them.
Oh OK.. Its actually really good smoke, I had 3 in and I pulled one at around 9 weeks when it was starting to show some Amber but mostly cloudy on the crystaly bits and it was weirdly some of the best I've had... But to be honest I'm pretty shit at this so don't really know what good is yet lol

The seeds should be mature by now. If you really can’t get some better seeds and have to grow with these it’s a gamble. Many people have grown hermie seeds and have claimed to have success but it’s just not ideal the genetics will be unstable. It would suck to keep going through all of time to grow em and just keep ending up with hermies. If You have to risk it I would use the seeds from the plant that was pollinated

I have just pulled a bud off and had a look there are a few tinny little husk seeds or green seeds that look a quarter of the size of a normal seed and pretty much just squish in my fingers. Not sure what to do really any ideas? Do I leave It longer and see if they mature or is it a case of it pollinated to late and will be a waste of time

Dang 12 weeks and they still aren’t ready lol Do you have more seeds for your next grow? You could finish this plant out and smoke the bud

I grew out some bag seed in my first crop i think it was 4 of the same strain. 1 of them hermied hard. Full on male mode. The other 3 all had a few seeds here and there but I let them go and they didnt effect the other 5 plants I finished. Shit was fire and worth dealing with the seeds and randomness so i kept some of the seeds but seem to have lost them at some point. Its a gamble but sometimes kinda worth it imo.

I plan on starting this stuff very soon and have been doing a LOT of reading on it lately. I have seen mentions of some strains that just dont really push seeds until the end of the flower period so they can take up to 16 weeks.

The seeds will mature if given a few more weeks.

How do you know the pollination took? That seed you have there is just starting to grow and if the rest are the same they will need a couple more weeks.

Which means pollination happened not too long ago, maybe she pollinated herself and the Hermie plant couldn't do anything.

^^this... that husk is still green, so too young still but looks healthy. Give them another week or so before making a final decision to give up! They possibly never pollinated when you tried to , but may have instead self-pollinated just recently due to age/stress since you're 12weeks into flower.. Hermie pollen usually leads to some unstable hermie gene's, but worth a shot if your situation is locked down? Why is new Zealand difficult to get seeds? Sounds like a market opportunity ;)

Well even in a lot of commercial grow ops and dispensary grow ops, you’ll get some seeds and sometimes they are duds, sometimes they sprout, I just don’t trust hermaphrodite seeds, because they aren’t 99% feminized anymore
