Seeds from '78

man that is crazy. you should clone them and turn it into a complete grow room. just a bit more lights and diggin ha

Ya, I'm pretty happy with the process so far! Never thought I would dig a hole to grow some weed, but so far no problems at all! It is a bit strange digging a hole in your crawl space, makes me feel like gacy or one of those other sick fucks in a weird way.

This seed was from my Dad's last stash of weed he ever bought (before he got married in '78 and I asked him this many years ago when I first saw this stash why he kept this.....memories. I didn't understand at the time.

Been at least 10 yrs since I first came across this stash.

Update:

blue mystic seems to be growing the best so far. big ole leaves and no nutes yet.

'78 seed is in the middle pot, and also last picture is a closeup.

I can't believe the 78' seed sprouted. That's awesome.. It wasn't even frozen or anything? Just been sitting in a bag for thirty years? crazy.

I grew up on the South Side, ask the 'old man' if he partied on the SS.

Yup, he grew up in on the south side as well! Can't think of name of the streets he lived on off the top of my head. Good ole bud :joint:

I've got some new pics too! Ran into some problems, but believe I know how to resolve em.

1st pic - All 9 of the plants.

2nd pic - close of the blue mystic. bought some Concern pest spray and used once a day for 3 days and the blue mystic didn't like it. leafs were burned. I've since stopped using it.

3rd pic - '78 seed. looks like its overwatered. Any thoughts??

4th pic - White Rhino. dunno what the problem is. Too much water? leafs don't look happy...

I spray these plants once a day. I don't water the roots or anything as the soil stays moist all the time. I wanna start using nutes (grow big) but afraid something else might go wrong. Should I continue with water or try the nutes? The ph level of the water is 6.65.

My blue mystic and all of my resulting breeding from bluemystic also hates nutes.
I have to use weakened nutes for them and introduce them.
I have still never managed not to burn them though so far.
I should probably get some testing kits and stuff but this time i am just going to use half strength nutes all the way through on this grow and if i still burn them i will shell out for the truncheons and ph kits and stuff like that and have to learn that stuff:blsmoke:

New pics!

Started using nutes (grow big) a few days ago. Looking good so far.

1st pic - All 9. They keep getting bigger and bigger

2nd pic - as natmoon stated earlier, blue mystic hates nutes! gonna just stick with water from now on.

3rd pic - '78 getting more sets of leaves :blsmoke:

4th pic - White Rhino loving this light

nice man you should make seeds of that '78 shit it looks weird. good luck it looks like your plants re doing pretty good now

All looking ok so far considering your grow area is in the ground:mrgreen:
Heres an old page from an old leaflet describing blue mystic for you in case you didn't know or haven't seen it before.
Its not as old as your 78 seeds but its still fairly old as leaflets go and its printed on real hemp paper:blsmoke:

...that's amazing, seeds from 1978!

i just germinated a couple of seeds that were 8-10 yrs old, and thought that was the shit.

good luck, and keep that baby going!

They seem to get worse and worse now. I'm using just water with a ph level of 6.5. Am I overwatering or what? I'm gonna get bigger pots and move the light up some. Any other suggestions?

1st pic - All 9 of the plants. Some of those plants don't look too happy...

2nd pic - closeup on the '78. More leaves, but hasn't gotten any taller

3rd pic - all pots look like this, roots popping out. hoping new pots will boost them up a bit...

4th pic - Too much water?

Here's my problem....It's obvious I need bigger pots, so I can either buy bigger pots and dig a bigger hole, or I can throw them all in flowering mode now and kill all the males and just let all the females grow in bigger pots and I probably won't have to dig a bigger hole. That should work fine, right? Any thoughts?

Looks like they may be getting a bit cold and that they need feeding now.
Use either 1/4 strength feed or a light organic feed that doesn't cause nute burn.
I would keep them in 24/0 lighting and feed them a weak nute solution if they were mine for another 2 weeks:blsmoke:

noo nutes...your humidity needs to be checked...im willing to bet its over 80%. You need to get them outta those lil cups...doing nothing but hurting yourself. Theres gonna be a huge root ball...should be easy transplant and your plants will be shocked for a few days.

if all else said...
