Seeds in legal states, USA

Are premium breeder seeds available over the counter in legal states where growing is allowed or otherwise?

Depends on the state I believe, by my understanding in Mass they don't have officially sanctioned seed sales, but I've heard there are seeds for sale at some shops. Premium breeder seeds.... not so sure about that part.

In my experience it's easy enough buying them from reputable banks.

I'm in Michigan and yes I can drive 25 minutes to The Seed Cellar a seed store that sells many different breeders seeds. The only thing is they still only accept cash or money order on account of marijuana still being illegal on the federal level. You can place your order online and since covid, they have curbside pick up so they bring the seeds right out to the car.

Well you just made my life easier. Had no idea of store front there but will be picking up seeds this weekend.

Depends what you mean by premium breeders. I haven't seen anywhere in Colorado that carries a variety of different breeders, but you can get seeds from rare dankness at their shop for instance. A few dispensaries carry seeds that are affiliated with their shops, but I don't think there is a way for them to stock stuff not sourced from licensed producers so they only carry their own(could be talking out of my butt there, maybe I just dont know where to look or maybe its some other reason). Clones are a bit easier to come by.

Well, if I was standing right in front of them cash would be just fine. :D

I'm most familiar with the Dutch ones.

Right now you need the proper license from the Dept. of Agriculture to sell or buy seeds and plants.
Most of the growers in my area are networked and it's easy to pick up free clones anytime you want.
When I need to give my mom a good trim I clone all the cuts and give them away or leave them at the local shop for people to use.

I like the idea of giving away extra clones. I've given away my share of "excess". I have never had a live plant given to me. How risky is it , bug and disease wise, to introduce someone else's grow environment into your own? I've read about people getting the dreaded mite from other's clones.

You quarantine them until you know they are clean

I use a small tent for propagation and quarantine. When new clones come in the whole thing gets submerged in a bucket of insecticide/fungicide.
Two weeks is when I feel safe to move them from quarantine.
