Seeds showing sex 12/12 in water cloner?

Has anyone ever taken cuts from seeds, put them in water/spray cloner and placed that device on a 12/12 light schedule?
Would this show sex before roots ever touch dirt?

How do you imagine taking a cut from a seed?
Don't you need to veg the plant for a few weeks before taking a clone?
Freshly cut clones that are put on 12/12 takes 2-3 weeks to show sex
