June 3/2016. Case didn't go to court. After this happened i had my medical card within 4 business days which helped me get off. Nothing serious like yourself, mainly
migraines, anxiety
Used to get them regularly and it would affect my vision.

Damn, that's terrible to hear Pulpit but thank you very much for sharing that info.
Your situation is another prime example why people should get licensed if they want to grow or already are. The sad part is that your situation isn't even as bad as it can get. A very expensive and stressful lesson indeed but at least you got off and didn't end up with a criminal record, loss of property, loss of job or jail time.

Oh man, this is my worst nightmare and why I posted....really sorry to hear about your situation, but thanks for sharing. My little garden is quite a bit smaller though, I've kept it at 5 plants or less to minimize risk and consequences. Even still, after the advice in this thread and hearing your story, I'll be looking for a Skype doc next week and file an application with HC. Like yourself, I also manage chronic migraines and anxiety/sleep issues with MMJ. The bouts of fear of getting busted definitely don't help with the anxiety though, so I think I'll suck it up and get legal.

Also, if you don't mind me asking, what was it that got you busted? Was it the outdoor plants attracting attention?

@NorthernNed, sorry to barge in. My question is a bit off topic. How do you manage to keep these plants, mom, clones? do you keep records of your plants, feed, procedures? does it take too much time? I really would like to have something like what you described.

I currently only run 5 plants at a time. I want to get legal so that I can have a few more for mothers, clones, etc. My garden right now is very small and simple. I like to be organized though, and keep records of everything I do.

The reason I got caught, my girlfriend at the time was on heavy anti depressants. She was told zero alcohol by her doctor, her Dr stated no issues with using weed. I was in the process of setting us both up and she had a relapse. She waited until her daughter and friend (with baby) were over, called the cops and said her and two other girls and a baby were in a grow up and they felt unsafe. So like 16 cops showed up at my door, she told them I had over 100 plants. Ha…she was arrested the next day for assaulting me and when they took her to the station she had all of my jewelry so she was also charged with theft. She is now my ex girlfriend.
Ned… doesn’t matter how big or small the garden is, the cops will arrest you if you don’t have the proper documents, they are just following the rules right/wrong. On a side note since I switched to sativas I have been migraine free for 3 months. Like Raider stated, no criminal record. I travel to the USA on business and I also have vacation property. I would have lost my job and would have been denied access to the USA. 12k is f all to have everything dropped in my mind but still a chuck of $.

Man, that's rough....sorry to hear about the mess. I don't have any external factors to worry about thankfully, as no one other than myself knows. I've also tried to minimize risk as much as possible: I own my own home, have a hidden secret room in my basement that is sound Insulated, good carbon scrubbers, nothing exhausted outside, etc. My room is so hidden that I've had friends over in my basement in peak bloom and they had no idea they were only a few feet from some stinky girls. My only real concern is the freaking smart power meters they have on the houses here. I only run about 800 W on avg, but still a small concern.
I've gotten some great info from knowledgeable people as a result of this thread, and will be making an appt for a Skype consult in the coming days to get the ball rolling. Not having to worry or sweat will be worth the $ and hassle it will cost. Thanks for sharing your story, hope everything works out for ya in the long run

more than crazy bro, i am just pissed about the comm service since it was an illegal search. I asked for a search warrant and they entered my house anyways f'n cops. i would have won the case if it went to trial but i wasn't about the spend an additional 10k on top of the 12k to prove it.

That's a sickening amount of money to have to spend on that BS. I basically told myself that if I did get busted, that I'd have to study up and represent myself....I couldn't afford that in this economy, not even close.
BTW, I've also found sativas to be most effective for migraine prevention.......they also allow me to function and not be tired during the day which is an added benefit for sure. As a result, I grow mainly sativas or sativa-dominant hybrids. Female Seeds C99 was really effective and a personal favourite of mine, DNA's Tangie is another. I do like to have at least 1 heavy indica in the garden to make edibles and concentrates from, for those are what I reach for to knock me out when an actual migraine hits. I've tried all sorts of meds for migraines, but nothing is as effective for preventing or treating them as MMJ in my experience.

Damn, that's messed up but I can somewhat relate. Before I had my license I too was dating a crazy chick that I was scared of her reporting me to the cops for my grow when I was breaking up with her. I seriously considered staying with her just because I so scared of what she might do when I broke up with her, even though I couldn't stand her. She too was on anti-depressants and would go straight off the fuckin deep end when drinking. So glad to have that situation long behind me now, but was stressful as fuck at the time. I roll single now a days and quite happy with my life lol.
