Figured I would start a new journal here for these beans. Selene and HeribeiXChem are both from Sannie's shop, H/C is listed as an outdoor strain but seemingly for reasons of mold/cold resistance for Dutch climate growing, so it should do fine in my tent.

4'X8'X7' tent, was going to be just my flower tent but I have some stuff I want to veg for a bit longer on deck after these so I figured I would go ahead and veg under my 2 600w's and get some use of the MH bulbs and switch them out for flower, moving my Glass Slipper in and flowering all of them at once. Space shouldn't be an issue as the Selene is reg so I will be culling a few males and will have enough room easily.

These are all in 3 gallon fabric pots (Selene is in 10X Aurora Innovations bags, rest in Smart Pot brand as the hydro store was out of Smart Pots so I figured I would check out the cheaper, recycled material ones that AI makes.

Soil is an organic mix, using Roots Organics 707 as a base, bit of added Perlite, a touch of seabird guano, touch of high P bat guano, some organic Espoma plant tone, dolomite lime, and a heap of extra EWC.

Will be using AACT's periodically, and have some kelp, an aloe plant for fresh aloe foliars/cloning, and some fish goop to use as needed.

Really excited about the new pots, been using 5 gallon plastic buckets forever and they are just terrible, I already like being able to use 2 gallons less soil per plant, certainly adds up in savings and should support at least equal sized plants as I have been getting.

Vegging under 1200w of MH with 24/0 from seed.

The Cheese, H/C, and Sour Kosher are fems, all freebies I figured I would run a few as my collection of free seeds is getting a bit large and I need to offload some so I have an excuse to order more seeds (makes sense right?).

Can't seem to post pictures since the site changed over, not entirely sure why, I've tried both the flash version and with that disabled, size definitely isn't the issue, but as soon as I am able to I will toss some pics of the setup.

Odd, some pictures work fine with the flash uploader, these did not and had to do them one at a time...who knows, I'm sure it will all be sorted out soon enough.

Should be poppin' up here in the next day or so.

Comments are welcome of course.

Of the freebies all but 1 of the Cheese is poking out as of this morning. Selene was all germed 1 day behind them so shouldn't be long for them to show up. One thing I noticed when I watered them all initially is that the Smart Pots DO NOT hold any water in on the initial water to break soil tension, it flows out immediately. The Aurora Innovations fabric pots don't let any come out like that, it holds it long enough for the tension to break and the soil to absorb the water which may or may not indicate better air flow into the Smart Pots, we shall see.

All of the fem seeds up, few Selene poking through barely and showing some soil disturbance on others, next day or so and should have a good number of them up as well!

Really excited to see your ChemDawg X Heribei girls, this is what I plan to grow next year for my small outdoor grow at a friends :)

I live in western WA where the fall/autumn/harvest time is often very wet & cold, much like the Dutch area the Heribei was designed for, so I'm especially excited to watch your ChemDawg/Heribei grow!

Been slacking quite a bit on updating this thread, I apologize. The Chem X Heribei are quite nice, very stretchy. The bud structure seems to be quite open and foxtaily, which would help with those cold wet times in the fall for you (as if there are warm, dry times out there in the fall lol)

Sour Kosher is starting to frost quite a bit, short stature to them, same with the cheese.

Also now have a Martian Kush by DNA, 2 Shiva X Cindy 99, and a Blue Hammer F2.

Great photos! Thanks so much for updating!

What does the ChemDawg/Heribei smell like at this point?
Just curious as to how smelly it is & what the smell smells like :)

Absolutely beautiful, Thay!
Keep up the awesome work, they're looking most excellent! ;)

Thanks! Not a lot of smell to them yet, will give them a fresh rub tonight before anything else and see if I can pick anything up, but if stealth on smell is a concern, so far it seems to fit that bill.

That's good to know!

The Mad Shack that has kept me in meds these last few years is somewhat like that, although when touched, you get a bit more aroma/odor - I have a horrible sense of smell, thanks to some repeat sinus infections on one side (my guess) but the Mad Shack has a definite 'skunky' smell, although very mild :)
When vaped, I get a really great 'piney' flavor that reminds me of the hash my 1st husband used to get, way back when I was a few decades younger :)

Thanks so much for doing a journal on the ChemDawg/Heribei, Thay!
I plan to grow one in late winter & take clones for my outdoor crop next year, it's great to get a preview!
And was thinking if I like it enough, to keep one going inside ;)

The Chem X Heribei in the previous pictures has one triple node on a mid-level branch, kinda cool, not sure how prevalent it is in the genetics but something interesting to look for certainly.

Quick few update shots of the "Chemribei" @ 47 days now 12/12
