Why are we spending taxpayer time and resources for an out-of-state corporate constituent who may or may not come to the state, said Senate Minority Leader Gretchen Whitmer (D-East Lansing) at a hearing on the bill last year. And were not doing squat for anything to help current constituents who cannot access medical marijuana.

The answer is pretty clear. The powers that be do not like home growing. They do not like free market and enterprise they want that money in their pockets. What better way than to pass a law that will intentionally create a monopoly all in the name of safety for patients? No....the government wouldn't create a monopoly (sarcasm).

Actually I believe Sub Terra LLC is a Michigan based subsidiary already running underground (literally) grows up in the UP.

Whitmer was referring to Prairie Plant Systems who most likely is the biggest greaser of wheels behind this law.

Sub Terra LLC is a Michigan based subsidiary of Prairie Plant Systems, as Dodge is a subsidiary of Chrysler. This should have been pretty obvious to Whitmer if she were paying attention
I'd have to agree with you Limo, but large corporate interests become exponentially more dangerous when colluding with government. It is a means of exploiting ones interests (corp & gov't) at a clear cost to We the People
