I posted this in here because, well, it didn't seem to fit in any other forum. LOL.
A friend of mine is considering having some dank shipped via FedEx from Kentucky to Pennsylvania (under an ounce). I personally have worked at one of the major FedEx shipping hubs on the east coast, PLUS a FedEx Ground location (the place you actually drop your package off at, pay your shipping fee, and send it on its merry way) so I know for a FACT that there are no X-ray machines or dogs. He was considering using UPS or USPS as well, but I also know that both UPS and USPS use X-ray machines and dogs, so I told him that this wouldn't be a good option.
He's smart enough to have it double vacuum sealed (FoodSaver bags). He's considering either having it put in a bag of Starbucks coffee beans, or doing the ol' shoving-it-in-a-jar-of-peanut-butter trick.
Which of these two options would be better for him? Obviously he's smart enough not to use real addresses (by real I mean his own and his sender's own; FedEx still requires the use of an actual address, so his shipper picks names and addresses out of a phone book at random to use as fake return addresses...that way they're verifiable).
I told him of a third option; hollowing out the middle of the bottom of one of those large (about 8" diameter) triple-wick scented candles and putting it in there, then throwing a sticker over the hole in the bottom. Not sure how he likes that idea yet, but I figured I'd post on here and get some feedback on it.
Constructive criticism only, please; we all know it's illegal and risky (even though I know FedEx's inner workings, they're still allowed to search any package that's suspicious), so please refrain from the typical "don't do it; it's too risky" comments.
I told him I don't know if I'd risk it shipping less than an ounce, but apparently these are some "not gonna believe it til you smoke it" nuggets, and he gets some of the best damn dank I've ever had in my life, so for him to say that to me says a lot.
So to sum this up, which of those 3 methods would be better--peanut butter jar, Starbucks bags, or candle? And which would be the best method for shipping? Overnight would keep it in FedEx's hands for a shorter amount of time, but that in itself raises eyebrows as well, considering most things that are sent overnight are documents, not packages. He's hooking me up with a bit of his goods upon receipt for finding some more detailed info for him, so please help!
