Hey there SMC glad to hear from you thanks for that info on those little suckers! back on page 12 I have the newest update whatcha think?
just checked out your picks.. your plants all seem to be frowning. the leaves are making a /\ shape instead of a healthy \/ shape. if they are always shaped this way, it would confirm my overwatering theory. if they are shaped that way because they just received water, but are not always shaped like that, then nevermind. otherwise things look good. good color, and no deformities. keep it up.

A fungus root gnat infestation is simply a product of over watering. the only time you get them is you give them an environment in which they are able to thrive. Fortunately, an environment that is conducive to proper healthy cannabis growth is not the most inviting place for the fungus gnats to live. You can put sand on top of your dirt to stifle their living area right now, but in the future you should wait longer between feeding/watering. I like to let the plant droop from thirst before I give them anything to drink. i buy good soil (roots brand) which nearly eliminates the possibility of bringing in new pests when i repot plants, and because i don't overwater I haven't seen those fungus root gnats in years.
that was my first inclination as well..... ^^^ some people really take offense to a comment suggesting overwatering and typically deny it.......

I got gnats ONCE........ let the pot dry out EXTRA couple of days....... no more gnats :)

Thanks guys. I am just really curious....
SS was only getting about a liter of water every two-three days. Mendo was getting more a lot more now that I think about it they might have just come from that one plant and spread to the rest??

Seems on another note that the SS some how got some kind of a salt build up. I just found out that plants (SS) were just getting enough water to drain just a bit. I made sure they are going to get more like a gallon and maybe water every 3 days? same thing with the mendo....

SS are about 6 weeks old and in 2 gal pots. Started flushing today planning on transplanting Sunday morning or maybe Monday morning we shall see. I should get some pics tomorrow and some more info on the girls. Mylar should be helping too. lower growth seems to be thickening up some. Any who enough blah blah...

Just water when the pots are super light the and the plant is looking like she is about to droop. Don't put it in a set schedule your in veg so the plant isn't gonna take up as much water as in flowering.

i agree withthe above comment. the only thing that is scheduled is feeding once a week. water should only be given when the plant is thirsty

Ok ok thanks guys. I like when everyone picks eachothers minds....makes for helpful information. I was told that the plants after they got the first part of the flush perked up real nice, thats good to hear. Ok guys on the overwatering thing.....like I said they just got the first part of flushing yesterday which was Tuesday. So they should get flushed again on Satureday or when they are on the dry side?? So is it safe to say that over watering brings the gnats out or just damp soil....? My guess is that they got about 3gals of water run through them; drain water ended up being nice and clear by the end of the flush....

Thanks agian guys very much. Always a big help. Girls would not be were they are with out ur help! If I could get they 3 of you together and put a few in the air I would. LOL

Looking forward to the niext two weeks
Happy Growings.

why are you flushing? that is only appropriate to do at the end of flowering just before harvest. there is absolutley no reason to flush all the nutes out of your soil during any other stage of growth unless you've over-done the nutes and got some burning.

Ya I was about to say what are you flushing for? You haven't had time to even give them enough nutrients to flush the nutrients out. They say its good to flush once every 30-40 days.... I dunno never tried that I just flush 2 weeks before harvest. If you just flushed them no don't water on saturday unless they need it. You'll be able to tell the plants leaves will droop and the leaves themselves will feel very very thin like a layer got skinned off of them or something. The gnats are from the overwatering. Lets say one got in when you opened your front door. They hence found your grow and reproduced. The gnats will only lay their eggs in moist soil, so since you had a "schedule" and didn't go by when the plants just needed water, you created a perfect environment for the gnats to thrive. I'm not coming down on you at all bro just need to get the watering thing under control. I too had the same problem. Patience pays in the end is what I've found.

My guy, like I said at the very beginning of the thread Keep it 100 with me. :-) thats the only way I will figure it out. It wasnt really a schedule more just water, water feed. No specific days but obviously it is over watering. The whole reason the SS is being flushed is because there was a salt build up in there. I found out that plants were not getting a lot of water bearly enough to come out the drainage holes thats the only reason I can think a salt build up could occur since before the last feeding the SS were only getting Flora Nova grow.
It was a build up to full strength 1/4,1/2, then full.

Thanks GFK,STM, and TLD great help guys. Keep up those great grows so I have some people to follow!
No pics tonight..... :-( hopefully I see the girls tomorrow.

Keepin it 100 :bigjoint:

I do use roots soil as well. I don't over water. I would say my problems come from the populations in my houseplants that I have yet to conquer. They are not bad, will not be bad, and its under control. Everything here is covered over and out. Thanks for the repetition

So today was the first day I have seen the girls in a little over a week. I never new there could be such a big difference in that amount of time...As you will be able to see from the pictures there is a real problem among them.... :-/ Well guys the thing that was different from the previous update till now was the start of a flush. (a big sigh ahhhhhh) Plants were not getting feed much at all since the first feeding with the BMO which was about 2 weeks ago. I think the plants were starting to show signs before this all happened and now since most nutrients were out of the mix plants starved..... :-/ Well some good news is that the spirdermites seem to be just about gone finally. Plants have grown a little
SS#1- went from 9.25--->11.5
SS#2 11.5---->13.25
SS#3 7.25--->8.75
SS#4 10.5--->11.5
Mendo 15--->17
Bag Seed 12.5--->14.5

SS were transplanted today into their final pot which is a 6gal pot. They were given a little bit of food aswell since they were starved over the last 10days and even before that. I found out that the plants were not getting much food for the size of pots and age of plants. Looks like Bagseed is really lacking nitrogen and I think mendo is starting to show signs of yellowing bottom fan leaves.

Todays feeding consisted of 4tsp GIG, 2tsp STP, 3tsp FH, 1tsp Bio-grow. The ppm level was 668 for the gal of water that this was in. That was for the SS. The bagseed and mendo got 1/2 strength Flora Nova and each got 1/2gal of water.

The light will be 11" above the canopy temps seem to be good they have been from 70-74 most of the day. RH has been about 50-60%
Soil pH is low right now working on bringing it up to around 6. My guess is that it has been low for maybe 2 weeks now. It has been 5-6.0 I am working on slowly raising it to around 6-6.3
pictures:
1) SS#1

2) SS#2

3) SS#3
4) SS#4

5) Bag seed

6) 4 SS

Here are pics of the brown spots on leaves, stems turning reddish purple, older fan leaves turning yellow, entire plant turning yellow......yea last week and a half has really shown our inexperience :-(

It all happened since the last time I saw them which was about a week and a half ago.

1st (10 ) pics were taken on the 8th and new pics (10) were taken today the 18th sorry kinda messed up. pics number 19 and 20 are of the mendo that were taken on the 8th too.

I know they look really bad dont be to harsh on me lol. Like I said I just transplanted 4 SS into their 6 gal pots. They will have a week to recover and then I will start feeding again Next Sunday......My thoughts are soil pH to low along with not enough nutes....flush really did more harm than good. I am sure there was salt build up so again thats why I though it would of been good damn it!!! I just hope they recover.........

pull the dead growth, let your pots dry out nice and good up to 2, 2 1/2 inches deep ;) , and give them water (p.h.ed at 6.7) from a wand or watering can that aerates the water really well, so approximately 5-10% of the volume of water going into the pot drains out..... measure ph, and TDS ppm if possible, of your runoff..... my guess is you throw in water phed at 6.7, it will come out 6.2-6.4 (ppm of approx 150-300 depending on what it is going in)....... your in the coco gold right...... all of this advice is based on that..... sorry I haven't been through for a couple days, I been busy ;)......

if your ppm comes out lower than 200, I would soak in an additional LIGHT feeding of 200 ppm (approximately 1/4 str GIG)

Guys good lookin out pics were taken just after watering.....

So they can make it through this huh?

DGK- yea I figured that when I saw the overall look of them... it just really sucks that they dont stay with me I dont think it would of gotten this bad but hey grow and learn grow and learn. I just have to keep telling myself this.

GFK- These pics were about an hour after they were feed. That is why they look real droopy. But Bag seed has been droopy for the past couple of days from what I know. Soil pH for the bag seed was about 6 so I dont think it has to do with that. Could it just be from not enough food?

TLD- My guy, thanks. I do have a ppm meter so I will check runoff after next watering which will not be until maybe Wednesday or Thursday, my guess is Thursday. Will do though Ill make sure they dont get watered until nice and dry.
PPM of water is at about 135-140 (dont know it that info is good for anything)
Dont worry about not stopping in I have been real busy myself.

I really hope the girls make it through they looked really bad it hurt me to see them.

Well guys Ill be keeping updates on the girls over the next week.....really hope they make it through. I just want a finished product.
