anyone have any bright ideas how I can keep plants in a system for 5 weeks and then move them to another system to finish?

I have been using 2l coke bottles stuck over the net pot. Works good with little slits in the side to let water flow through. But when I moved them to other system I did still lose a few roots as they had grown through the holes.

Would be perfect if there was a way to do something like airpruning under water when the rooots try to grow through bottles

They will be moved 3 weeks after stretch though. I did notice a bit of shock on my plants last run round by cutting them out.

I aim to keep them in veg room for 3 weeks of stretch to get a harvest every 5 weeks

I use a small 12 volt dc pump in the middle of my 2 plants attached to the main pump...it helps keep things circulating and keeps the roots away from the pump and each other.

Why do you say bad plan?

I’m running a test at the moment. 100mm pipe which the net pot slots into. Pipe sits in the water. Large holes all around the pipe to allow water to flow in. I have then wrapped the pipe in 100 mesh copper. When the roots touch the copper they will self prune and send out side shoots

Because you have to move the plants and stress them in flower. Fucking with the roots in flower is asking for a plant to shoot bananas.

The copper may effect the water and or nutrients...I'm not 100% sure.

If roots aren’t tangled and all you do is lift them out of one bucket and put them in another your not really causing any stress as far as I can tell.

People who use air pruning pots prune roots all the way through flower.

Air pruning is different than chopping off existing roots. Some strains will get really angry at that. If you can move them without having to chop roots then great. Better to move them in veg though.
