Serious Seeds fem vs Female Seeds

Female seeds are decent, I've ordered their seeds before (C99 and Lemon Kush) and currently have one C99 growing, looks good too

the price of seeds has to do with the company, serious seeds has a good rep so they can charge more for their products, in my opinion fem seeds arnt worth the cash they ask for them, id rather buy a pack of regs and pick a super momma out myself, ive grown a quite a few fem seeds from different companies and sum have turned out great sum have hermd on me, the best strain ive grown outa fem seeds was dna genetics sour cream

Can I just say, even though your advise is good and I'll not dispute it, I think sometimes people buy the feminized seeds because they get a sense of security about buying labelled feminized seeds. I buy feminized seeds because I feel they will benefit me more in the long run than buying regulars and not having a clue.
I'm sure most people will agree that fem seeds are a good way to start, simply because 99% of the time you get females, unless you buy from companies that are notorious for bad seeds.
If you want good budget seeds then I recommend buying from the following.
Female Seeds- I recommend trying the C99 and Lemon Kush, I'm currently growing C99 and germinating a Lemon Kush tomorrow.
Dinafem - Even if they do claim to have things they don't, they're products are still decent and I'm sure you can find many good reviews on many of their seeds.
G13 Labs - I've smoked a few of their strains, including their version of Cheese, Auto AK and Pineapple Express, Hypnotic is on my radar though!
Sweet Seeds - Green Poison is a very good smoke and knocked me on my ass for 4 hours after 2 joints.
Delicious Seeds - They do some good budget strains which I've read are decent such as Black Sugar Rose.

Actually you get females 100% of the time when working with fem seeds. Kinda hard to have a male without an xy chromosome being present in the conception of the seeds.
Never ordered serious seeds before, but the x-line c99 they have has turned out to be my fav smoke of anything I've done. Glad I selfed it because it didn't make reveg one time.

Yeah, no contest. The only serious strain I've grown out is Bubblegum. Pretty much came out exactly ass the description. I have smoked a number of AK's also (never as impressed as I think I should be) decent. As for female seeds I try to avoid companies that only offer feminized seeds. Not that I'm completely against fems but who starts a company and only offers strains that were made by fucking themselves, not breeders in my opinion.

I've never grown fems from either, but I have a good amount of experience with serious seeds, all of it excellent. AK, Kali Mist, and Bubblegum are all top notch smoke. Serious is one of the companies that the HTCC usually gives one or two awards to in order to maintain a shred of credibility. With some companies you pay more for hype, withothers you pay more for quality and consistency. The latter is what you get with Serious seeds.

Over the years I have grown all 5 Serious strains with Kali Mist currently 5 weeks into flower. Never a herm or banana on any serious strain. Female Seeds Bubblegummer started herming 4 weeks into flower. Stick with the original true breeder Simon. He did all the work to create the strains. Why give your money away for inferior rip off artists who steal other peoples work.
Interesting. I recently grew out bubblegummer and STRESSED THE T TOTAL SHIT OUT OF IT, and didnt see a single nanner.
The last 3 weeks every leaf on the plant was flourescent yellow and not a single pod.
Oh wow, thanks guys these where the exact responses i was looking for. I've been on the fence because I want the AK from serious, I've heard good things about it; but then again the lemon kush is sounding like a good choice too. I do want quality more then anything and I have heard good things about both companies but was wondering why the price margin was so different between the two. Thanks guys

If I had the money I'd go for the original, but you shouldn't be dissapointed in Female Seeds either if you go that way.

Do you not think that the hermie could have been your fault? I know sometimes people are genuine and do just get hermies through no fault of their own, but the majority of the time it's easier to blame the breeder than yourself, especially if you're an experienced grower.
And besides, it's not like they're Greenhouse Seeds and trying to convince people it's the original by copying the name of the strain exactly and passing it off as their own. They've renamed, although kept it familiar for comercial reasons obviously.
Just like another company that has a strain call "Lady White" which is a White Widow copy.
I have respect for the companies that do that and not just keep the name and pass it off as their own as morally, it's the right thing to do.

I guess price can come down to a lot of things. It could be the availability of the seeds, it could be that it's a private breeder and not loads of breeders working together so the seeds will take longer to produce in numbers. Sometimes it is because you're paying for a quality product. I know that Mr.Nice prices are high compared to Female Seeds but that's because of quality. I could be that the genetics are exclusive to one breeder or how easily they can get the seeds shipped out. So many different variables that it's almost impossible to say if budget seeds are budget for a bad reason or for a good reason.
I know that Female Seeds dropped the price of their Lemon Kush to £8 for a 4 pack because of a "1 in 20 chance that the plants will show male flowers". But this was strictly from the breeders website.
However, The Doggiest Nuts, is just a laughing stock from what I've read.
If you want cheaper seeds go with G13 Labs>that's my suggestion!(I've never gotten a herm. from them)
If you want Originals go with Serious seeds since they have the strains your looking for.
I've never bought singles of anything because if you've popped seeds before you know they're almost never exactly the same in the end.(sometimes they are)
