Use slug shields. They work and they last all season. Like, put them on and forget about slugs for the rest of the season. You can get them online and they ship quickly. They also stretch with plant growth. No brainer - they figured this one out for us.
I used them last season. My plants got eaten nearly to death - 90% gone in 2 nights! Put the shields on and two days later the leaves were growing again and continued to flourish - it stopped the slugs! Clear sailing the rest of the way.
