serious wilting in bubble buckets

I nursed a train wreck from a tiny clone that was a throw away to a beautiful plant. My brother and I then put it in a big bubbler bucket since it had gotten big enough. Now it along with a few others, have suddenly developed hanging droopy leaves that are yellow then turn crispy and die.
I think it is nutrient lockout since when the buckets need topping, bro said to add more nutrient water. I am new to bubbleponics so have been doing as he said, but his plants grow for awhile and then develop this problem and die off. I do not want to allow my plants to die off like that and prefer to try and save them. So here is the information as I know it, please correct anything you see wrong since I am moving my plants out of his room and into my closet to be taken care of properly.

Ph found it to be very very low around 4.5..he says 6.5 but my research says it should be in the 5 range.

Light..not sure about wattage but the plants are not getting burned and grow very well until they suddenly do the droop thing

we are using flora grow (both parts)

I use nettle tea as both a foliar spray and mite controller. I think topping buckets with nutrient water is creating the problem since the train wreck does look better since i topped off the bucket with Ph'd tap water and used the foliar spray on it.

Sorry for the novel lol...any help would be appreciated

All else fails, drain all the old and use fresh and clean solution. Make sure the levels are ok and they should come back

pH 5.5-6.5, with 5.9-6.0 being the usual goal with these plants. ppm's/EC may be going too high topping with Nute Water. I'd expect to see really low pH and droopy leaves if the concentration is too high.

I'd dump the reservoir, refill with nute water as the directions say, then top off with pH water only daily, and change the res weekly for fresh nutes.

You can get by without the TDS/ppm/EC meter, as long as you can measure pH, though a meter takes a lot of guesswork out of things.

Thanks guys I will use a meter since the test kit he has is the kind with a tube you fill with water etc and the tube is discolored. He just lets his plants die when this happens and I am not so willing. I was going to refill the buckets with half strength nutes and continue a foliar spray until it recovers if that is the correct thing to do. He also does not measure the water, just makes a guess at how much there is, so his plants look lovely for awhile then suddenly they are dead But he does not ask questions like I do lol. I will keep everyone posted since this is my first real grow. Thanks again :-o

possably low oxygen level too, but my money is too high nute concentration. dump n re fill bucket n use 1/2 recomended nute strength. see what happens over the course of 5 days or so

you want to also keep an eye on the temp of your nutes, anything above 75 and you will most likely have problems

For any strain... If you plan to grow more than once. Ph down little by little taking note of ppm progressing each feeding. If she eats more and more and more keep dropping until she eats less. Then you know for sure where to stop the ph ip down and where she loves to chow down.
That is if that isthe problem. Nute overdose could obviously be it as well.

Thanks guys! The little engine that could is now beautiful again and is standing tall at 21 inches! I do not know what this ppm is that I keep hearing about so if anyone has any info about I would be glad to hear. After reading your posts I gave her half strength nutes and clipped off all the death. I check the ph daily and top off her bucket with ph'd tap water. I also use the nettle for a foliar spray and there has been no more death on her. In fat she is filling out and will soon be back to her bushy self :-P Thanks for your help everyone
