Serotonins First Grow: Snow White

Have been flowering for 4 days and I'm happy to announce all are female... even the bag seed plant. /victorydance

Anyways, I was around when my lights went off this evening so I got some pics without the waves and light blasting the plants.

Check em out!

Fuck my camera sucks :(

The plants are finally starting to bud. In the next day or two the hairs should explode out of them and the ladies will start to get sexy. :P

They're looking phenomenal... leaves are vibrant and firm and a gorgeous green. I'm watering all 3 about half a gallon a day! Have the nutes on bloom ratio now at a 1400 ppm concentration and its like they can't get enough.

Even though your pic's are very grainy I can see distinct evidence of overnute. Your ppm is too high for this stage of growth. Pull back or you will suffer later into flower.

The leaves are perfect aside from the tall ass bagseed sativa... it grew into the light 2 times.

What evidence do you see?

i think he's talking about the tip discoloration in the 3rd picture. it's just barely starting but dilute your res water just a little bit, maybe back to 1100. If the instructions for your nutes say it should be that high then ok but keep an eye out.

Your ppm's are too high for this stage of development, and looking at the pic's I can see overnuted tips, despite them being very grainy. The damage to the leaves that I can see has not been done by growing into the light. It is nute burn.

I wouldn't even need to look at the pic's to know that this is what should be happening to your plants, as your ppms are too high for this stage of development.

So, what type of plants and/or size of plants are nute companies assuming when they state the recommended dosing of nutrients? So far I haven't added anything extra, and am just using the 3 part nutrient solution and following their instructions for feeding.

Obviously you can go lower, but then what is an ideal ppm for this stage?

Obviously you can go lower, but then what is an ideal ppm for this stage?

1.4-1.6 ec... or 980-1120ppm or the other ppm scale, 700-800ppm.

you want the middle one. Depending on strain some will take the higher end, some the lower end. This also depends on flowering time.

However long your strain takes to flower, halve it and call it the mid-flower point. Never go above 2.0 ec (1400ppm) at the mid-flower point, keep it between 1.8-2.0 (1260-1400ppm). after the mid-flower point you come back down the readings just like you came up to hit the mid-flower point.

So say you have an 8 week flowerer the mid point of flower would be somewhere around week 4. This is the week that you peak feed. Week one you may start with something like 1.0 or 700ppm even, maybe higher like 1.2 or 840ppm. then the next week you raise to the next level. Once you know the flowering time of your plants you can start working out their optimum feeds.

Thanks a ton for the info man! So should I throttle off all the nutes as a whole... say take a mL or two off each of the three or should I just lower the nutes for my veg and not bloom?

I know some growers just pour the feed in till the ppm is of the desired level. That's an all in one feed though. If you're using separate nutes though, you're just going to have to figure it out yourself. I use AN, so wouldn't really be able to tell you about your nutes.

If the reading is too high, dilute it till you get the right reading. Eventually you'll get to know it off by heart.

... and the flowering continues. :hump:

They're droopy because they've been in darkness an hour. Did start getting some slight nute burn but quickly leeched the rockwool clean and gave it almost 2 days on pure water. Once again giving them nutes around 1300ppm.

They're doing well, and this is a great learning experience. It turns out they were deficient in Phosphorous, which I attribute to them being under so much light and in really nice temp/humidity because the buds are just growing and growing. I was feeding based off the GH schedule but I needed to go around 6mL higher on the GH Bloom.

Only halfway done flowering and they're already so big and absolutely covered in trichs. I stopped updating because my cell camera is all I have atm for digital and it sucks major ass. I'll try to get pics later tonight when the HPS is off to eliminate the waviness.

First pic is a week ago almost and the rest are 10 min ago.

Wow after looking at those pics I feel bad, because they don't do my plants a shred of justice. The top cola is already as long as a pop can and about an two inches in diameter on my middle plant.

The tall sativa's leaves are curling under and I'm guessing that is from heat because the bitch is so tall I can't move my light any further up. Its nothing more than a bagseed plant so I'm catering to the snow whites. My newb ass shouldn't have put that plant in the same slab as the indicas but live and learn. Its not burning but the leaves are slightly fucked up looking at the top. Not sure what I'll do when it still has a week or two of flowering and the snow whites are done.

K Here are some better pics w/ out the waviness. Tad over halfway done flowering.. these plants are going to be fucking beautiful when they're done.
