Hello everyone,
Let me preface all of this by saying this will be my first attempt at growing. I run an IT company out of my home and would like to set up a nice stealth grow operation so I can stop dealing with some super shady people. Since I already have an IT company I figured it would be a pretty good stealth operation to modify a server rack cabinet. I have three cabinets that measure 78 inchs tall x 24 inchs wide x 42 inchs deep each, they match all my other cabinets and could be placed in the same room. I want to create a cycle of growing (perpetual grow cycle? unsure of the correct terminology here). I can modify the cabinets however would be needed. I was wondering what all of you suggested I do.
The only thing I know for sure is I can not have any exhaust to an outside area (no windows in room and cant go through a wall or floor), and I need to minimize smell as much as I possibly can. Electric bill isn't really an issue since I do run an IT company and that would explain the electric use. It mostly needs to be so that if anyone were to walk into the room upon initial looking and think that these three cabinets are just like all the other cabinets in the room which are full of servers and other equipment. I want it to be the only way anyone would know that they are anything else is if they opened the doors.
Should I use hydroponics, bubbleponics, aeroponics, or just go with soil. I consider myself a fairly smart guy and I've taken chem and organic chem during college (just not majored in it). I have a friend of mine that is a metal worker and has agreed to help me with any modifications I may need. I'm unsure of the best way to go about growing inside of server cabinets like I have in order to produce perpetual harvests.
I plan on ordering my seeds, and building whatever system seems best to accomplish my goals, I'm just completely unsure where to begin when it comes to actually getting the server rack cabinets set up to do what I want.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
