Severe stretching in late bloom

This started in week 5 or 6 and has continued into what is now early week 8. The first thing that comes to mind is heat stress, however my environment has been very cool. I have 8" ducted hoods and plenty of fresh cool air. The stretching is inconsistent as you will see in the photos. Some plants have severe stretching, while other plant's buds remain tight and dense. The stretching is seemingly random. It has effected roughly 2/3 of the plants in the garden. It isn't isolated to specific genetics, trays, hoods, or reservoirs. I have ran these exact genetics before a handful of times and never encountered any stretching in the past. Green Crack and Blue Thai, for the record. Any insight is helpful. Sorry about the blurry photos.

Do you have some ambient lighting that might be staying on?
Or was there a timer snafu for a few days?
It almost looks like the plant has resumed vegetative growth.

Dag nabbit. I was afraid that may be the cause. I don't have any ambient lights or timer issues whatsoever, but if someone left a door open there would absolutely be light leak, major light leak. One thing that comes to mind is the randomness of the plants effected. It spreads throughout three different trays. I imagine if a door was left open repeatedly the light that leaked in would focus on and effect one area more than the others. That doesn't seem to be the case. Any other possibilities?

Were they from seed or clone if they were from clone did they come from the same mother it could just be genetics. I have noticed that if I dont keep a mother and take clones from clones after a few generations they will start to show some weird traits

They are from clone. I have made clear however that I have used these same genetics a handful of times with no issues. Anybody else have any thoughts?

Maybe theyre done and making a last effort. That foxtail like thing sucks for the looks of your shit and the density :):):) *edit - id cut em if your done instead of letting them keep doing it *

Kind of like cousins from Arkansas that keep marrying each other, eh? Their kids I mean.

Yes, there is a possibility that they were taken from different moms. They were cut from teens that were later bloomed. I saw each one of those plants through its life cycle and non of them did anything like this.

Watch for Herm activity. That may reveal your stress problem, as I'm sure you know, light leaks will flick on the Nanners/Balls.
