Take a look for pictures of the differences. About 1-2 weeks after light levels are equal (12 hour day 12 hour night) plants will start to show their sex

I never done it direct from seed actualy i have sprouted during the winter months indoors on the window sil bud it took ages as the growth is so slow
I would give them a few weeks before starting the flowering at least this way you'l have stronger plants to turn back into veg

Wolverine97 i actually started 12/12 on day 14 but i like to start early because i like fast easy bud!!! when i get older and by my own house then shit will be hittin the fan!! appartments arnt good for big plants! and i need to keep the smell to a minimum.

Take clones before you flower. You can flower clones much quicker than plants from seed, as they retain the age of the plant they were cloned from. You don't get nearly the possible yield by flowering that early from seed. The plant needs to be at least a month old ideally, or it just won't have the structure formed to support a decent yield. Some of my plants are many years old.

or it just won't have the structure formed to support a decent yield" SEE NOW THAT MAKES GOOD SENCE!!! Thank you for that!!! so they have been on 12/12 for only 4 days so there a total of 18 days old what whould u do in my shoes keep going with the 12/12 or switch back to 18/6?

you should start seeing sex about 7 days after switching from 18/6 to 12/12. Sometimes a bit sooner, sometimes a bit later.

also, why did you ask about 12/12 from seed if you really didn't switch to 12/12 until 2 weeks of age? how much light were they getting before that?

and how tall are they? I have found when they are flowered young like that they can grow to 5x their height in flower.

Kerovan why did i ask? isnt this the place for asking questions lol...

i sprouted them in half plastic bottels then transplanted to 1/2 gallon icecream pales. they have had 18/6 for the first 14 days then i switched to 12/12 4 days ago so 18 days total today. there 5-6 inches and starting there 8th nodes if u include the first set from sprout as one. i LST them for a 2 days and they bounced right back to upright today but now i gave some really good undergrowth going on. and i have like 3 more feet of room so ill be fine with room.

so at this stage at 4 days in on day 18 how long do u think untill i see signs of male or female?

p.s. one is already on its 8th node
It's sort of a coin flip situation in my opinion. I'd probably revert the light schedule back to 18/6, if it's only been four days and they're from seed I highly doubt they're starting to flower yet. Actually, now that I type it out, it's not really a coin flip. Switch em back, take clones, profit.

I want to see that 8th node from 14 days from seed

dude if i had a camera i would put it on my dad didnt believe it either untill he saw it him self and it wasnt the 14th day it was the 18th day and now the 19th! just wating for the lights to go on here so i can go look at the starting of the 8th or 9th node depending on if u count the very first sprout leaves as the first set!!!

iam not lieing its actually really cool its looking like a fully mature plant but its only 6-7 inches tall! lots of undergrowth! i snaped a main fan leaf like 10 days ago and i think that might have stunted it but iam telling u IHAVE 7-8 NODES RIGHT NOW ON DAY19. 5 DAYS INTO 12/12

You can flower once it gets four nodes, but I wonder if it grew tall that quick can it hold a bud up, or will it fall over. the plant needs to be strong enough to hold some weight. I would switch back to 18 hr take and take clones, or just cut the tops.. grow another week or two. I go for short strong plants rather than tall thin ones

So are you counting each leaf as a node then?
