sexual influence

Alright oldtimers
I am starting to flip some of my plants and EVERY one has been male 5 for 5 so far.
My question is: are there any factors that can influence sex?? Temp, humidity, "nightime" temps, nutes, root spinning....
Any ideas?? or did I get "maleized" seeds:lol:

I believe that IF your environmental variables signal extinction of the genus, then marijuana, as well as many other plants (and animals, etc.) can result in male prominence?

Kinda like the human female living in the Arctic might become manly.
From your list, I'd have to guess temp, IF this is what is happening to your ratio.

According to Jorge Cervantes' "Marijuana Horticulture: The Indoor/Outdoor Medical Grower's Bible":

Environmental factors start influencing the sex as soon as the seedling has three pairs of true leaves (not including the cotyledons.)

The following are for the first two weeks after the third pair of leaves start to show

Things that produce more females from seedlings:

Higher nitrogen levels
Lower potassium levels
Lower temperature
Higher humidity
Higher growing medium moisture (careful though)
More blue spectrum light
Fewer hours of daylight (18 hrs vs 24 hrs)

Things that produce more males from seedlings (basically opposite of the last list):

Lower nitrogen levels
Higher potassium levels
Higher temperature
Lower humidity
Lower growing medium moisture
More red spectrum light
More hours of daylight (24 hrs vs 18 hrs)

Note: Those lists are not quoted verbatim as the book has it but the information is the same. I didn't feel like typing out big long paragraphs heh heh.
