SH Grow problems

Hello fellow farmers!

I am running a Stealth Hydro Bubbleponics system for the first time and have some problems.

The plants are 12 days old. The problem started on day 5 (nutes @ 1/2 strength) with one plant on the oldest leaves but now appears to be spreading to 2 others. New growth looks fine. It starts as light spots as shown in 1.JPG and then progresses to total leaf death as shown in 2.JPG over a couple of days. The leaves droop and curl downward slightly.

I flushed and replaced nutes at 1/4 strength on day 6. Then added another 1/4 nutes 5 days later.

System vitals:

  • SH Bubbleponics with two 10" airstones
  • Used distilled water @ PH 6.25
  • Current PH - 6.2 - no PH up or down adjustments
  • Nutes - SH 1/2 strength Micro & Growth
  • Temp - ~70 - 85 Deg F
  • Humidity - 50% - 70%
  • Lighting
    • 24/7
    • ~2"-3" from plants
    • Sun Blaze T5HO 2" 4 bulb (Grow lamps)
    • 2 - 34W Compact Fluorescents (daylight)

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hey TIOAB!

That was my first inclination as well but I was following Roseman's advice. He said to start with 1/4 strength and then add another 1/4 a couple of days later and then another a day or two after that.

The plants had 2 pairs of leaves when I flushed and re-started with 1/4 strength. I added another 1/4 on the 5th day after that and that's where I'm now at 1/2 strength.

Another weird thing I have two other smaller sprouts which are a week behind the larger problems plants and they look just fine.

So I'm still clueless as to what could be wrong.
