Shakedown Street 12000 watts

I call this grow Shakedown street, that phrase reminds me of my experience in life. We are here for a good time not a long time as my cousin would say....

After much hard work and a few harvests later I have decided to post pics of our current grow. I think that it is possible to do this solo but it is nice to have a grow partner, someone you can really trust.
The grow space is a converted barn with 10,600 watts of HID power. There are 6 1000 watt lamps over 2 and 1/2 trays and then there are 8 600 watters including 2 stealth tubes for a bit of a middle aisle action and 2 other trays. There are 3 100 gallon resovoirs with two pumps in each, one to flood the tray and one to move the water inside the rez for better air flow. The vegetation room is powered with a 1000 watt lamp and an old school 400 watt hanger both over two 4 by 8 tray. The Electric cable was routed underground from a neighbors house with their permission. The barn is surrounded by winery's and cows and is a nice area. I would call this current grow unethical and experimental. I know that I have learned a lot just working the room. For example I knew that we would be starting with well water at 360 ppm and I freaked and bought the RO filter. Come to find out marijuana plants love the well water. Perhaps because of all the calcium, never have had it checked.
All the plants are 4 weeks into flower and harvest is 4/18/09. The nutes that we use right now are advanced nutrients micro and bloom along with Open Sesame, Cha Ching and Liquid Kool Bloom. The Strawberry cough x Deep Chunk has stayed at 1400 ppm or more the whole flower time. As a matter of fact all the plants have and it is virtually impossible to burn them with the well water. The plants are just way healthy!!
Strains that are in this room include Purple Kush, Superglue, Strawberry Cough X Deep Chunk , Black Domina , Hindu Kush , Trainwreck, Durban Diesel, and a few others. The reason for so many strains is that we are in Norcal and we run into new genetics everyday from friends and the clubs.

We would like to evolve this room into a sealed C02 situation with the Sentinel Controller and all. I bet this room could harvest 14 Pd's or more if we put in 120 of the same plant and had co2. Ive gotta say that fact alone is really exciting for us to see what this could be made into with creative thinking and good karma!

Right now we expect a 10 pd harvest. We are both working professionals and dont have a lot of time to spend on the room as we would like.

Comments and suggestions appreciated...............

Korvette , thanks for stopping in ! This grow is prop 215 compliant. The electricity bill is over a thousand a month. Bout 1200. Longlizard thank you for the compliment. SC x DC has been a nice indica plant to grow, drinks up tons of nutes stays green the whole time.

If your going to grow with this much money buy coliseums with 3000 watts per coliseum you can get 10 pounds in 2 months. Your burning way too many lights(maybe water cooled is also better for you no flir sig and can put it in the plants, get rid of all that ducting and heat spikes, lol no co2 for a room like that is just plain stupid looks fairly compact I mean we are only talking near double growth rate here, oh yeah bottled co2 is cheaper and with liquid lights its not being vented) and thats how you get yourself fucked. Buy better nutes(your lights to nute ratio is way off too cheap on nutes too expensive on elec and lights) and coliseums after your first grow. You could easily get 40 pounds(in 2 months) with that much light. Remember everything is about quality not quantity. Thats why we like this right? if not go back to schwag. Allot of you growers seem very risky and lazy to me which is a bad combination. Look I know this sounds harsh, but this isnt a damn game. Go to ICMAG and search Vertical Joyride.

did you read any of this?

hes legal...fuck flir. those are great nutes. because he is legal he has a set limit of plants he can have, coliseums require massive plant numbers therefore throwing his legality out the window. its in a barn, co2 would be a complete waste until they seal the evironment.

"allot of you growers seem very risky and lazy to me"

allot of you guys who criticize us growers seem jealous and unambitous.

Coldflo, all I can say is I'm dedicated to the max and think the idea of a coliseum is great but it is a slow moving business as well. I work with a grow partner that is a genius, has owned quite a few buisnesses and what not but doing a coliseum is a major budget and requires a lot of cash, we live in very expensive Norcal, Gallon of milk 5 dollars, 6 pack 11 dollars norcal. Hustling the bud gets a little old sometimes. Co2 is def the next step. But right now it is what it is , a barn grow with major POTential. Its funny too because both partners are more than qualified to seal off the room and do the co2. It just requires the Sentinel temp and co2 controller to be installed. However life gets in the way. To quote an old friend " The streets giveth and the streets taketh away" Feel free to show me a pic with 40 pds of your buds that you grew man.......

Aladdin thanks

SlikWill thank you and stay with the thread cause tommorow is the 1st and a harvest is 18 days away !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how many plants would you say you have total lotowork777??? Just curious because i am about to start an op of this size and really dont know what to expect yield per plant.......if i were to have 5 plants budding under 1000 watts is that more ethical than 10 under 1000.......let me know i need an experienced growers point of view

an op of the size your speaking of is only for experienced growers. anyone undertaking such a venture should already know these things or they will most likely be met with failure.

ethical?

try a smaller op to get your experience up

yes yes ethical may not have been the best word choice.......i am experienced just more in the outdoor field and for the small indoor knowledge it has beeen soil so im new in the hydroponic field, thats why i ask the yield question? and if 5 plants under 1000 is better than 10 under 1000?? ive read plenty of things and talked to a few people that say you can easily get 10 under 1000, i am looking for more experienced peoples advice.........

perfect......thats all i needed to hear.....thank you

he is talking about a SOG setup. thats great if your not concerned about plant numbers. yeild avg is 1/4 - 1oz per.

if your concerned about numbers i would veg them for 4wks, topping them at wk1 & wk2, and put 9 under each 1K. this way i avg 1/4lb - 6oz per.

Hey Chief, I reccomend 30 plants per 8 by 4 tray, that is around 1 per sq foot with 2 1000 watters over each. I also reccomend reading every grow thread on the net. What you might learn is that experience and having the right tools count.

I know the amount of electricity doesn't matter because you're legal. But I'm just curious if running a generator might be cheaper because you're using sooo much electricity. Maybe it's a dumb question, as I know nothing about the cost of running a generator. I guess essentially what I'm asking is "How does the cost of running a generator compare to what the electric company charges?". Anybody know, or should I stop being lazy and just google it ;-)
