So tomorrow/next few days I'm going to Ace hardware to get supplies for my first grow cab, I've grown outdoors before but wanted togive indoor a go. I just want to make sure I don't forget anything. I am going to have a cab that measures 22"x48"x50", I'm hoping to grow 6-8 plants SCROG(what should I use for a grate?) with cfls & soil(gotta keep it cheap). So heres what I have on the list...
-CFL bulbs (how many for my area? Trying to use as much as possible without shorting out circuits or spending 100s on electricity)
-1" Trim(frame)
-particle board
-mylar/emergency blanket
-2 fans (what size?)
-6 black plastic gallon(2?) pots
-3-4 power strips
-adapter and Y splitters
-extension chords
-fan for circulation

I don't need to worry about smell that much but I may buy supplies for a cheap carbon filter. Hope I covered everything but help me out if I didn't.

Time for a hash blunt the Giants just won the World Series!!!! lets goooo

Well for CFL's youd have to buy the store out of its stock to raise your eletricity bill by 100s so just get as many as you like/can fit that will have to be something you have to decide.
If you can't get mylar there you can use rapping paper, (poly) it has a silver side to it and "crunches" when you hold it basicly the same thing as mylar.
Power cords are a must make sure they can handle the load and also have an overload breaker on it, on that note you will want atleast 2 10+ foot extensions expecialy if you wanna pull power from a diff room (so you don't overload a breaker/fuse).
Fans hmm, well you'll want an osolating fan, 1 fan for bringing in freash air and 1 exhaust fan, maby try the bathroom section and look at those fans as they work fairly well but can be pricey I'd aim for a 250+ cfm one for exhaust also.
You'll want a tray for underneath those pots so they don't just drain out onto your floor (your gonna have holes in the bottom for drain off right?).
At some point those plants are gonna start to smell, I'd highly reccommend looking at the "DIY" forums here on RIU and look at the home made carbon filters, there cheap and do the job.
You might want one or two spray bottles for foiler spraying (water or nutes).
Gonna need an extra bucket or two so you can properly pH that water before you give em to your ladys too.
Pick up a couple temp gauges also, atleast 2 for the room ( one high up and one on the ground).
And timers of course.
Theres more (there always is lmao) but this is a start.

this is what i built for a 2'x3' grow area. theres 8 26w cfl bulbs= 208w or 14,000 lumens. the board is a 24" premade shelf, the fixture is a vanity fixture, an extension cord w/grd, the reflector is an 8" stovepipe extension opened up to 18", later i added a piece of 1/4" allthread across each end, it really stabilized it, the 4 Y's for the bulb didnt make it into the parts picture, i cut and bent some heavy coathanger for the hangers and slide them in between the reflector and the board, the refl screws to the board (predrill) and the fixture attaches to the other side, i covered the board with foil tape bc i had some, white board reflects fine. i bought everything at home depot except the bulbs, hd's are only 5000k, walmarts are 6500k for veg. my grow box is 18"deep x 32"wide x 38"tall with a 1 1/2"scrog screen 12' from the rockwool, only 3wks into veg and my screen is 3/4 full! so, the cfls are working! they do throw off some heat tho, idc what anyone says! vents off = 108 deg F...fast! i have 2 113cfm 4" comp fans for intake and 2 for exhaust and the box sits in front of an 8000btu window unit vented down across the intake port. but now i can keep it around 74-77deg during lights on and drop it to 65-68deg for lights off. hope this helps
