Hello everyone, I'm in Southern England and am on day 27 of this HBD grow. The single seed was purchased from:
http://www.pickandmixseeds.co.uk/products/short-stuff-himalaya-blue-diesel
Seems like I may have a tall Pheno - it is already exceeding the 11"-16" quoted size and is currently standing at 20".
Seed was planted directly into the soil of it's final pot and took a good week to peep out.
Internal Diameter of pot at top is 34cm and it is 31cm tall. I believe this size to be about 3 gallons although I'm not completely sure. It is basically a plastic patio planter with holes drilled in the bottom.
The grow medium is MiracleGro All purpose Enriched compost with nowhere near enough Perlite added as I was running out when I planted. This is supposed to nourish for 3 months so I haven't been feeding, although now I'm into flower, I will be giving her a dose or two of banana skin tea.
At the moment, I'm giving her about 2 pints of unph'd tapwater per day.
Temperature is usually about 80 F
and the lights are on 20/4 as I believe that even autos benefit from a little dark (although this belief is based on nothing more than a hunch).
I have quite a lot of what I believe are fungus gnats which I believe might have been in the compost when I bought it - although I wouldn't swear to that. I need to get some of that Diatomaceous Earth.
Up till this point I have been using
1 x 125W CFL 2700K
2 X 23W CFL (Cool blue/daylight white)
I have just added another 2 23W 2700K CFLs.
Total now is 217 W
It's funny, when this plant first started - it showed every sign of being very short and stocky with big broad leaves and internodes that were nearly touching. It seems to have been on a bit of a stretching binge lately!
I can't believe how thick and long the stems to the fan leaves are on this girl.
To my knowledge, I have never smoked a Diesel strain - after rubbing the thick stem of this plant with my fingers, I can see where the name comes from. The aroma is quite reminiscent of diesel fuel.
I have named her Helena in honour of Helena Blavatsky.
I welcome feedback from anyone, particularly anyone who has had experience of this particular strain.
This is my second Autoflower grow with CFL lights. My first grow was Auto Silver Bullet from Ministry of Cannabis purchased from Herbie's Headshop which grew to around 24" and yielded about 15 grams dry which was a very uplifting and smiley smoke! The first grow used the same lights as this grow, but the pots were considerabley smaller.

My next grown is Northern Light Auto from Speed Seeds which cost just £2 from:

She should be peeping out any day now!
