Short Stuff: Snowryder

Another watering today.

6.5 pH for the Sharks
6.3 pH for the Snowryders.

Well I decided today to take the Sharks down Saturday the 23rd. Today will be their last day of water. I will give them about 36 hours of darkness before harvest. Thurday night I will take off the rest of the big fan leaves and put her to sleep until sat. morning. Saturday will be manicure, cut, and then hang to dry day. The Snowryders will get 1 more watering before I let them dry out a bit before harvest.:eyesmoke:

Pics of the girls, plus a couple off of my porch.

Yeah, I see those orange things almost daily. A nice little underhand toss with a rock and I could hit it if I was stupid enough to try it. Lol.... Besides I like my freedom, and those things are Badass, I always wave to them.

Last day of light for the White Sharks. They will go into darkness until Saturday morning. I also cleaned them up a bit today to get some good light below. I took one more seed from her, it was nice and shiny with beautiful dark tiger striping.

I'll take photo's of the Snowryders later. Tomorrow will be their last day of water.

I am very impressed with your buds, they look so good bro. Good work man, have you done the darkness thing before? I tried it just recently with my Venom and didnt really notice any difference. Keep me posted on how your darkness works out for you. I love those top soil roots too! Great root porn! That orange thing I believe is called a Dolphin...They are bad ass and look futuristic with the enclosed tail rotor! What a view from your porch! Keep up the great work Paka.

Peace

BKB

lol, thanks again. My friends do the dark thing. I don't what and if it does anything but, might as well. It'll just be one more day of no water and she should be good and dry and ready for harvest saturday.

yeah, I like the view too. There was a green dolphin that dropped by today, lol.

Anyways here are the Snowryder pics.

Pakalolohui... are you sure they are ready man? you still have lots of white hairs. I don't know the strain and I cant see the trichs, but those pistols look aweful white, you might be cutting yourself short.

May I ask which set of pics are you looking at? From which post #?

Snowryder #4 in pics. Day 65. The trichomes are almost to where I like. They are acceptable now. The white hairs actually are just a few that sprouted a few days back. When they are harvested on day 69 #2 & # 4, day 70 #1, the trichomes should be close to 35%-40% clear, 35%-45% milky, 20%-25% amber. If not, definately less clear and more milky:)

Lights still out for the White Sharks, they will be harvested tomorrow morning.

Snowryder #1 Day 67
Snowryder #2 Day 66
Snowryder #4 Day 66

Last day of a good heavy water, 6.5 pH with lemon juice again, just a splash.

I'm still around 15% amber trichomes, with mostly clear triches. I'm thinking by monday morning they should be good to go. There are still a few white hairs, they are new from almost a week ago, I look for trichome maturity not by the hairs.:blsmoke:

Finally got some pictures of the products that I used.

The only products that I do not have pictures of are:

Roots Organics Big Worm Wormcastings & a bag of some perlite.

Most products were mixed into the soil, and some of the others were for tea's or both.

I made a half batch of Super Soil recipe by Subcool, with the addition of CytoPlus for humic and kelp, Bountea Humisoil, and I also added some alfalfa meal.

If you read the journal from beggining to end you should see the tea recipes and so on for feeding.

Have a great day:bigjoint:

Update on the White Sharks:

Overall not very impressed with the overall grow. I had some troubles really early before the thread had started. I believe the last transplant caused #1 to hermi. Dropping the light hours like I did I noticed foxtailing to start occuring and just before the 36 hour darkness before harvest I noticed a few banana's on #2. When I opened them up to take out for harvest, there were banana's pretty much all over the place.

So dropping the light hours and a dark period never again!!! There was no difference in trichomes.

White Shark #1 was very very pungent of lemon skunk, it was also very resinated. If this had not hermi'd on me and got seeded this would of been the SHIT. There are a few good tops that do not have seeds.

White Shark #2 in the very last couple days produced banana's all over the place, prior to lights out and very pronounced while harvesting. The 2 Sharks could of gone another week or 2 but would of been fully infested with banana's and completely wasted. At this time there is still some good smoke, but definatley nothing I was hoping for. #1 was my prize before she hermied.

Live and learn from trial and error and most definately from experience. Straight 12/12 in bloom to harvest for the photo strains for now on. I can't say I never tried it.

The Snowryders are still looking great, and I may give them a little more time. I'm in no hurry, got some drying and will be curing. I'll take photo's tomorrow.

Regardless you will still have some bomb ass bud to smoke. I did 48 hours of total darkness before chopping on my Venom OG and didnt notice a change in trich or resin production. I think its better to do the darkness period in transition form Veg to Flowering. Hey I am a nOOb so what do I know, I just go by what I have done in the past. LOL. At least you learned some valuable knowledge and hopefully wont have a Hermie problem again from lessons learned. How do you dry and cure your buds? Also would like to hear a smoke report on your harvest. You have done very well and dont let the nanners get the best of you! Your a great grower!

Nice documentation on your slide shows....Ever watch those time lapse marijuana grows on Youtube? Check those out, they are insane!!!

Peace
