should i cut the leaves off?

i have 6 plants(bag seed 5 days into 12/12) in a walk-in closet with a 1000w hps they have so many giant leaves i think there shading all the lower bud sites .also not sure how many are fem yet so half may be going away in a week or so?and there big ..there in 5 gal buckets of soil and range from 4-6 ft tall about 4 more feet and i'll be out of room for the light ?

now that i have an idea what i'm doing and got lights and stuff i'm starting 10 big bud clones in 3 gal hempy buckets any advise ?

It seems like there are two basic schools of thought when it comes to this. Some say leave it alone, and that you're only hurting the plant. Other say "sure, pop the fans off halfway to later in flowering to get better light penetration. I do a little of both, and I usually pull a few of the fans that block potentially heavily producing bud sites and leave the rest. If you're going to do it, do it around 5th or 6th week of flowering

Never cut healthy leaves off it will affect your final yeild

there are several things you can do though

you can move leaves tuck and fold them out of the way

you can harvest the top and let the bottom keep going a bit longer

You can harvest the top and re-veg the bottom and go again

I have always been told that cutting off Fan leaves is like cutting off your mouth.

try some LST if you got the room and they are not to stiff, pull and tie the tops off to the side so Light can reach further down also like said above tuck and move some the leaves that are in the way of bud sites.

Also the LST will keep their height down so you dont run out of room.

my 2 biggest ones are fem i had them tied all down but the bud room is to small i cut the string and there straight up now one has 3 main branches and 3 smaller ones and the other has 2 main 3 smaller.i want these to hurry up so i can grow some real stuff now.

mine are real bushy and I don't even think about taking the life support of my buds away.dont cut healthy leaves
