But you're right that's exactly what I'm doing is pruning based on light penetration and footprint etc.

Not to concentrate growth up top but to make the most use of the lighting I'm using.

Looks decent. I was basically saying that by pruning the bottom makes the bud growth more concentrated to the upper part of the plant. Man my descriptions are not working well. :lol: But yea, I don't usually prune the bottom of my plants, I usually train them after topping. I'm more than likely going to do a scrog grow next. At that point, I will prune the bottom part of the plant. Uh oh, I hope it don't ruin the growth by doing that. :lol:
 
FIM, supercrop, and lollipopping/defoliating. I see absolutely no needs for lower leaf growth. I want all my growth up top on my colas and other tops. screw the little crappy popcorn buds way down below.

You obviously don't know jack about growing. EVERY leaf collects light, converts it to energy and stores it in the plant; the leaves do not store it "locally"; it's for the good of the entire plant. Stop giving bad advice to cut off what the plant has already paid for to grow. The proper sequence for the best growth is "Roots, Shoots, Fruits".

What would be the advantage of stripping off leaves that the plant has already made? That would be like cutting off your little toes and pinky fingers just because they are not the same size as the others. Ask a master gardener and pro pot grower like Uncle Ben and he will tell you to leave the leaves alone.
 
The questioned you asked me have already been addressed in this thread.

There's a difference between removing leaves and removing branches.

Your personal scenario will determine whether or not it's beneficial to remove branches.

It will never be beneficial to remove leaves that aren't heavily damaged.
