Should I go with 600W or 1000W?

I heard that the 600W is the most efficient and is good bc you can get it closer to the plants, but will I get much better yields with a 1000W.

I like 1000w better you dont need it that close to the canopy anyways or you'll get light bleaching

I agree with Chuck... search out a good dimmable ballast and bulb so you can decide at will at any time what wattage you need.

i havnt tried the 1000 watt, however ive used 2 600 watt hps over a 5x5 grow and get great yields. i guess its all what a person prefers, i like the 600 bc you can put it closer so in my sog i can get better penatration= bigger buds. my friend uses 1000 on a light mover over a 4x6 grow and our yields are the same. but i have better climate control as my 600 are in cool tubes with fans pulling the the air through the tubes out the roof, and his 1000 is in a regular wing reflector so he has to run air conditioner constantly to keep temps down. I dont think switchable ballasts are worth the xtra price tag, pick the size you want and get a digital ballast but thats just my opinion.

A gavita 1000 DE is more efficient than any regular 600 watt on the market. The Gavita 750de is also a nice light.
They are supposed to be releasing some new reflectors to....

600's are ok for certain circumstances, but I prefer 1000s.

Yes its a special double ended phillips bulb.

Its actually quite a bit different....400v and Nitrogen gas filled?....I can't remember, but it cant be air cooled like a normal HPS.
