I had a plant that looked like that last grow, it was a Kush strain. It grew like a runt for a while...but in flowering it took off and turned out to be one of favorite of that harvest...just let it grow...good luck

Ok, so it's been almost 48 hours since the pics in the first post.
I think she's finally coming around although the droopy leaf situation is still bothering me.

Also, the leaves have this crunchy/crusty feel to them. Anyone know why they do this?

idk tommy.. that thing is bothering me too, lol.. the thing is that it looks pretty healthy other than the droopiness.. its nice and green and i don't see any kind of spots or brown leaves or whatnot..
i am far from a pro on this type of thing, but have you tried googling droopy leaves on early vegging mj plant at all? i would try that and just look for pix of plants that look like yours and see what you can find out..
sorry i couldn't be of much help.. g/l with the rest of the grow m8..

I'm currently running the lights 24/0. Starting today, I'll turn it down a bit to 20/4 and see if the plant will react differently. That's the only other possible explanation.

Ok for one you overwatered the shit out of it, dont lie you did. Make sure there is drainage holes in the bottome of the cup, also make sure no light can get to the roots and the soil is loose so the roots can breathe.

Not being an ass just constructive critisim (sp) lawl

and make sure the fan isn't blowing cold ass air on them constantly.

ENJOY

I don't think I'd spend so much time typing posts, taking and attaching pics and wasting my time believing my own lie. Kinda stupid if you ask me.

As far as the soil, I know it's not the Fox Farms everyone talks about but the cups do have drainage holes and there is no cold air blowing on the plants. So what else can you recommend?

So it's 4 weeks old now and starting to pick up on the growth now (vertically).

Before you say it need Nitrogen, I know... I was just waiting for the soil to dry up some so I can give her full power nutrients and kick her ass in shape... :hump:

On a side note, is it possible to transplant the plant without the soil into a different pot? Is there a method to wash off (carefully ofcourse) all the old soil and leaving just the bare roots transplant it into another soil ? has anyone ever tried this or will this kill the plant due to shock?

Any advice appreciated ! :hump:

That plant looks good bro. If u transpalnt into a bigger pot like u mentioned that should work. The original container looked a little small for something that old.

that plant is in polluted soil , plus at that age fighting the over under watering it may have the fan may be on too high .. all thoose stressed together are doing her in . poke a hole in the bottom and see if any water comes out .. if not stick your pinker finger in and see how wet it is .. im betting there are no drainage holes and shes rotting from the bottom up .

Dude dont kill it.. yours is like 10 times better than my seedlings as far node development.. all mine streched cuz there wasnt enuff light.. now they are way too long (8 inches) with about 5 or 6 sets of leaves.. i had to repot them and bury them up to the bottom leaf just to get emto stay upright. they are doing fine now but im sure they have been to stressed to produce anything good.. ill wait and see though.

I wouldnt try to remove the dirt from around the roots, theres a good chance you could tear/damage the roots. Just put that root ball in some good soil, and the roots will make it outta that crap dirt. As far as nutes go, I would NOT recommend hitting that thing with full strenght nutes. Its so tiny you might fry it. Start it out with 1/4 strength and work your way up. Also, I wouldnt nute it when you transpant it, cause thats just gonna be adding stress to it.

Lesson in "Soil 101" learned -- don't use shitty soil u find in a used pot that's over a year old.

I will keep the plant as long as the leaves are still green... I just wish she would lift up that leaf skirt.. lol

I'll post an update in a week or so...thanks guys/gals

Well, here's day 33 of the plant that I wanted to destroy. Just replanted it from the 16 oz cup to a bigger pot. Planted into some better soil (Jungle Growth). Also, I will probably be looking to trim those bottom leaves in a couple of days once the roots get into the new potting soil...

I actually did that. I took the plant out of the pot, and gently squeezed the soil, as to make it fall off. Then there were only roots left, I washed the roots off in the sink, then just put a big hole in my pot, and put the roots right down there. It grew fine after about of week. It was shocked for about a week, but it grew fine after that. I even lost half the roots when I took it out of the original soil, and it still lived. So yeah..go for it

Well, I went ahead and squeezed the soil a bit like you did just to get the access off the root ball. Then plopped it right into the new pot and gave it some water. It's nice to know that someone had success at getting ALL the soil off the root system and actually had the plant survive. Thanks for the input.
