Should I leave it be, or hack the excess?

I want to know if I should do a major clean up on my lady. She's on the second week of 12/12 after 3 months of vege. I've read that trimming leaves can help the plant focus on bud production. I've also read that you should never cut fan leaves unless they are unhealthy or blocking light from a major bud site. I want to know what you all think about this. the only trimming I've done is, I topped her, and I removed 4 or 5 fan leaves blocking bud sites. Should I do a major clean up of all the leaves and branches that are under the canopy or should I just let it do its thing? Please advise.

Also some pics!

Beautiful plant. Usually I'm one to say leave your leaves alone, but in your case, yeah, go ahead and thin that bottom out some. That girl is so lush and thick you may actually get air movement issues deeper inside the plant, later in flower.

How big is your flowerng light?

I'm running a red 600w hps. She gets the whole thing too. Coco, Canna nutes, just started with cannazym and bio boost.

Leave her alone, I wouldn't clip anything - if she's your only plant under 600 HPS you don't need to clean up anything. She'll need those fans for energy conversion & the more the better. I personally run two fans, one down low & another on the canopy with great results. Again, I would not cut anything that isn't damaged or dead.
Stress is another factor you should consider, it is possible that the additional stress caused by trimming could cause the appearance of the dreaded male flowers.
IMHO
Peace,

nice looking indica..real healthy looking leaves i'd cut the bottom 1/3 of the plant..if u dont it will be a bitch to water and if u do cut it will focus on ur big colas not the little popcorn buds..good luck and good shit so far

My vote is with 'leave it be' as well. The more branches you remove the less bud you get, it's as simple as that. Of course the bud that is produces at the bottom of the plant will be not as dense. With that fluffy bud I tend to either give it away to friends or make hash with it. I'm currently experimenting with a staggerd harvest - I harvest just the cola and a few of the bigger, exposed buds - then let it go for another week or two and then do a second harvest - allowing the smaller, lower buds to be exposed to the light and bulk up (you could maybe even do a third harvest).

Trimming does cause stress, which can lead to hermies and a barrel of no fun at all.

You're plant is beautiful. She's still going to stretch (you're on week 2 of flower right?) so some of the lower sites will naturally get exposed a little better.

Is this your first grow? +rep either way for not skimping on the lights, nutes, medium, veg time, etc...you should get a pretty nice yield off that girl!

Mismoo is so wrong to he obviously just doesnt know how to trim up a plant right..check out lollipoping a plant they cut like half the damn plant and get more bud then they would of got cuz the colas will be fatter bigger and weigh more doing this

I agree you need to trim. It well help air flow and keep it from getting popcorn buds. I have to take off leaves so its not so obvious and in my opinon thats the lowest form of stress. You just need to know when and where to trim, and like he said don't go overboard, I have almost always trimmed my plants and that it self hasen't made any hermie's. So at least trim a little.

yea i never had a plant go hermie from a trim..thats new and bs as far as im concerned..that guy who said that must of had some other issue like with light or just a crappy plant idk all i know is i never had a plant go hermie from a trim...and the only people who dont trim plants are people who dont grow much or just dont know whats up..most cannabis club growers (actual cannabis growers, not just someone with a cannabis card) trim there plants at least a little bit

Thanks for all the opinions +rep for all. As far as posing, it shouldn't be a crime to put time and effort into a crop that you then harvest and enjoy in the privacy of your own home. It's one of the basic joys of being a human being. As such, I'm doing nothing wrong.

Add suplemental side lighting (tube fluorescent), take some clones from the bottom, smoke fat, grow some more, keep smoking fat, :)

true. a plant that is left like that all your going to see is smaller buds. pending on what you want outof your plant is what youdo. for exaple when youprune or trim your plants you are going to loose a bit of yield but in return you are going to see some big fat beutiful buds, not a shit load as if you were not to trim or prun.

this plant is not ideal for lollipopping. He is talking about trimming inner growth that would otherwise probably die anyways from lack of light and take energy away from the plant rather than add to it. If you are going to flower indoors or outdoors, and its still in veg mature with preflowers, use the lower newer growth branches as clones to preserve the genetics (if its anything good that you like). The popcorn nugs in the very center of the plants aren't worth it. Don't do any big climate changes at the time of trimming.
Since your dedicating a 600W HPS to her, Lux in the lower portion of the plant all around will have less lumens hitting the lower foilage. Adding supplemental light will increase the energy they produce, and they will grow faster and stronger.

Basically thin and add more lighting for flower.

Don't prune it, don't leave it ............supercrop it. Bend the bitch and tie her down. Spread her open and lower the light so it gets to all the plant. Anyway, thats what I would do.
