Should I run my water pumps at night?

Hello fellow gardeners wanted to ask a ?. I have had my system for a year and have not run my pumps at night and am getting one ounce for every tree after drying. Just wanted to know if it would help to run the pump at night? Anybody out there running it at the night cycle in the flowering room?

Thanks Ira

I think it's common knowledge that you don't water at night. Lower temps mean the plant wont transpire as much, which means the medium stays wet longer, which also means water stays in the plant longer, which all adds up to mold in the medium and/or buds.

What medium are you using? How long are you vegging?

I water right at the start of day, then every 8 hrs after (ebb and flow). obviously I water during dark, but 12hrs of no water on my roots makes me a tad nervous when in full bloom. I agree, they dont drink as much at night, but the main concern is.. are your roots drying out for long between water cycles? Too many factors. I used a plantless hydroton pot to check dry times in my setup. I suggest focusing on how quickly your media dries. Depending on your setup, mold may be a concern? Happy growing

I am vegging for 3 weeks. It is an aeroponic system. There is no medium. The roots are suspended in the air in a 2 inch net cup with neoprene holding the plant in place. Water sprays and drains out over the roots. Its on a 1 minute on 10 minute off cycle in the flowering room. Same thing in veg room.

I use the same watering schedule for night as I do during the day, mostly because my cycle timer doesn't allow for different schedules. I am on day 58 of flowering in my first aero system - 2" netpots, no medium and things are going well. I am currently watering 1x every 15min since I am in late flowering, but had it set at 1x 5min in early flowering.

you have to water at night with an aero system because there is no medium to keep the roots hydrated. period. end of story. anyone giving you any advice otherwise is full of shit.
