My plants are looking good but should i trim this leaf off that seems to stay droopy? only a small part of it is yellow but it doesnt seem to get better... i also heard the stem will help the rest of the plant so should i cut it, if so where at, the very end of the leaf? Another question about MH bulbs... i saw a few that looked like they connect into the same socket as a CFL, like 400watt MH, or can you buy sockets to use for them to screw onto the wall, unlike a big HPS ballast.... thanks for the help!100_0779.jpg100_0778.jpg

No. It is a sign of something being wrong though, im assuming the reason you cut the tips off the other leaves is they were yellowing/browning like that leaf, right? a mh bulb needs a ballast to run it, be it a mh ballast or an hps ballast(almost all mh will work perfectly fine with hps setups.). So yeah, you cant get a socket or something that will allow a mh bulb to be used w/o the rest of the system. You can get an 400w hps setup for around $100-$150, they are not too expensive.

nope, got them like that as clones from Harborside.... my plants are healthy all the new nodes and leaves are green as fuck, only droopy ones are ones that couldn't get revived after buying them... you sure i shouldn't cut it? two days and still not better

go ask fdd, he'll tell you to remove the bottom 3 branches then top it, leaving you with a leafless stick!

Clones use the stored nutrients in the leaves to help grow roots and become a plant, by now it seems as though there is deff enough of a root system for the plant to grow just fine without that leaf. Go ahead and pluck it off, as it will never get better, and can be an opportunity for disease, or bugs. Disease and bugs look for weak spots in a plant to attack and a dying leaf could be a doorway. Not saying it will, it's just a possibility. The lil lady looks great otherwise, good job and happy growing !!

I wouldnt pluck off that leaf... it still has plenty of green to it. Think of leaves to a plant as solar panels to generating electricity. It is still absorbing some energy for the plant.

I would listen to CmptnAzCampbell Because a leaf that is starting to die but not recover is constantly sucking nutrients from the rest of the plant to try and stabilize itself. And you have pleanty of new foilige to keep that plant alive. also when you cut a plant it grows back real quick no probs. just dont cut to much at once or you could put it in shock.

Thats not how it works, if a leaf is so badly damaged the plant no longer thinks its worth keeping alive it will cannabilise the leaves stored energy and nutrients.

i just let leaves fall off, your plants know whats best for them and will let leaves go when they have nothing more to offer them.
