That's why outdoor gardens in Alaska are usually in a hot house or green house....Like I said before, they will go for a bit, but they eventually die.....
Its our cool nights that kill em.

Yes I understand that, its obvious.. But I've always wanted to see if an outdoor grow is possible out in the open. That's why outdoor gardens in Alaska are usually in a hot house or green house....
I was just re-iterating it for all the nay-sayers....Yes I understand that, its obvious.. But I've always wanted to see if an outdoor grow is possible out in the open.
Its not as far as I can tell..
I've even tried ruderalis strains, they dont work either.. the cold kills them too..
I think its possible with just a regular greenhouse to do ruderalis hybrids on raised beds or with old tires.. but I'm not a breeder by any means or am I willing to give up space in my greenhouse to do a project like that.I was just re-iterating it for all the nay-sayers....
I also have tried for quite a few years to get an outdoor garden with no greenhouse and flowering before winter.... I ended up a few years ago trying about 150 yards of buried garden hose and pumping hot water through it.... worked until it stayed wet outside for nearly 2 weeks, then came mold, and rot, and thripps....
Funny story for ya.Alaska is a pretty big state, a few thousand seeds is just a drop in the bucket compared to how much vegetation is growing in this state. Most of them probably don't even make it to full maturity because of our extreme weather and amount of wildlife
And dude I never said I wanted to pick buds you can keep your seeds lolI have tried for about six years to toss seeds and have them go... Sadly though:
The biggest problem that happens to most of the seeds is probably the cold and the state DOT workers as well as the adopt a highway crews....those that do make it to full maturity don't ever properly flower, what with the extreme photoperiod in the summer to fall months.
We're talking about SEEDS not hardened off seedlings or clones. I'm not tending them or hiding them either, they're tossed out of a car window at 70 mph on a very busy highway..... There's tons of factors including the SWARMS of thripps that frequently destroy flower gardens from Kenai to Fairbanks, animals, highway pollution, and drought that can all negatively effect "freedom drops".... To flat out say that I'm lying because you don't believe me is quite obtuse, and frankly uncalled for. I understand that I may be overstating the fact of tons of plants along the highway but, I never said that you can stop on the highway and pick buds....
Hardend clones are showing up in the community garden around the corner from my house! Its so funny to see 'em with tomato cages and mesh covering them!Funny story for ya.
There was a patch of garden in front of the principals office, well somebody had planted a seeds there, and yes it actually grew. Anyways, it was pretty good size before it was pulled, it was the joke of the school for awhile
This was at an elementary school I went to in the early 80's.
I however have never seen any wild cannabis myself...
That would be cool.. do it for shits and giggles.. You may get farther than me..K well next summer ill try and run an auto outside for ya !
Alaska botanical Garden... just sayin....Well I was just thinking the ruderalis route.. . there are so many hothouses in alaska. You dont need a light depro light house.. etc etc.. So anybody could grow a crop with no special setup.
Ah.. just remind me in the summer, I might do the auto thing in a hothouse now that laws are more relaxed.
If not i'll just drop some seeds in at bell's nursery ... MUAHHAHAHAHAH.
Not when half the packs were suppose to be CBD seeds. Never grown any of them and have no idea which ones I would need to get tested. They are pretty much garbage at this pointIf it makes you feel better
its like a box of chocolats you never know what you gona get
