No your not suppost to
hard on the lil guys
I don't feed my plants until they have at least two (or more like four) sets of fan leaves (so that doesn't count the first two round leaves). If you feed them too early they'll actually die. Start with a little (very little) food after a few sets of leaves, and lay off if you see yellowing of the leaves. Then increase.

As far as direct sunlight, that is actually fine, even early on. Just keep an eye on them. If they start to wither up and look stressed, put them in a more shaded spot. But don't leave them there long... after a few days when they recover, get them in the sun again. They can take direct sun a lot sooner then they can take fertilizer.

Then again, WTF do I know...

stay away from MG plant food and soil!

and ONLY if you are desperate you can use their soil...

MG is only good for tomatoes...

any successes using mg soil that contains slow fert release, anyone?

I know that afew of the gurus around here use the MG moisture control and it has the time release ferts balls in it. But those guys can grow a 9' plant out of a crack in the sidewalk. I was always second guessing things when i tried MG MC, just easier to start with un nuted soils in my opinion.

As for when to start feeding plants i wait until the plant show a need and start SLOW, 1/4 dose or less in the begining works for me. Try "alaskan fish emulsions" for a cheap organic veg fert, and you can get it at wally world for like 7$ Not saying it smells the best but it's good stuff.

Good luck

so if i flush right now with lets say 4 gallons of water, when my pot is nearly 1 gallon. or will it release nutes? i dont want that to happen:joint:

Yeah i think that was part of my problem i usually water till i see runoff, my theory was that the growers who have luck with it are the ones who water just enough to get it done without releasing too much of the nutes. But i never bought more MG MC to try it, just easier to walk away.

Good luck

I've been using B-1 Thrive on my plants and its an organic weak nute and my seedlings are already on their 2nd node in not even 1 week (from germ to 2nd node) and I am using CFLs for my grow
