I think you mentioned how the wars of today are different than other wars in many ways.That’s the main question for me too. If he’s this self-destructive, what’s the end game. Not like I really care where the eastern border of Ukraine exactly starts or ends, and interviews with regular Ukrainian show they already gave up on the areas that are now basically Russia again. But in yesterday’s speech Putin clearly suggested the entire government of the Ukraine is illegitimate, repeating his view Ukraine is not really a nation and it’s created by communist Russia. Seems he thinks he can replace Ukraine’s government with one that will take orders from him again.
After fully securing the areas they recognized yesterday he will move on if nobody stops him. Crimea is out of water and the nearest supply is in an area of Ukraine that doesn’t want to be Russian.

Not sure if he’s still cunning though, seems he’s getting old and going through his bucket list. After his latest speech it’s obvious my earlier comment about him thinking he’s the reincarnation of Catherina the Great isn’t that far off.
Or more specifically, the destruction of the influence/power the USA has in regions where Russia and China want more. I don’t think China is eager to partner up with Russia in an actual war, but they do both have the same problem (US restricting them) so I’m sure they will team up in other ways, already have. China, however, has a lot more to lose. Cutting off trade with China would be costly for the west but devastating for China and those many now rich Chinese will not be pleased, just like the many millions who will lose their jobs. But then I talked with a few crazy rich chinese and they are absolutely convinced the camps in China are nothing more than propaganda from the US. I’ll watch the video you posted tonight.

our social democrats loose power for about 30 years now and greens have surpassed them... and many political factions even can adopt rivals program as simply the funding & acceptance in the population is there
even the conservatives jump on the green wagon here...

One thing a hunter learns is to respect the environment and preservation of wildlife is part of the sport. That's my thing. If you like eating endangered species, then have at it. I'll do me and you do you, babe. I regret the decline of the abalone fishery but am content to move on to other game. I live in Oregon, the land of the worst diving in the world. But the game is plentiful. I spearfish and catch crabs and cockles by hand on SCUBA gear. It's good.
The thing about people who spend little time in the wild. They have no connection and so can laugh about eating the last of a kind. Then again, if everybody hunted, there would be less for me. So, stay where you are and eat your canned limpets. Or is it wild bat sushi?

It’s about respect. People who have no respect for nature or the environment usually have no respect for anything. I know people who spend plenty of time in the wild with that lack of respect.
Wrong. I was just saying what's on the menu in HK. And I bet most of the stuff is farmed. But not the disgusting shark fin horror. And as the sea is my natural habitat, I've too been spearfishing for decades, so when I'm not eating south China sea delicacies, I'm catching my own. No fancy scuba gear, only snorkeling with just a spear and a knife.
I do have a problem with octopuses, love the taste, but really breaks my heart to kill them, they're very smart and I hesitate. I almost always just play with them and they leave, unless it's really huge and probably near the end of its short life cycle. Check out my 2 latest dives: couple of congers and a moray eel (love it) and a pelagic fish, can't recall name in English. The other one is a mix
