I'm late to the discussion, but what are your thoughts about this Russian invasion? Like I don't understand what Ukraine did that the president of the Russians feel like they need to do this and kill. Im stunned. Thanks for your service!
This is another Putin flex. He can't stand the rest of the world is doing without him. He can see the writing on the wall about fossil fuels and is scared for his country. He sees another 1989 moment in the future if he doesn't act out.

im guessing because the entire world would shun them and consider them little better than animals for destroying a healthy democratic country to feed their nationalism...
You give the population of this Globe too much credit thinking that they would really give a fuck as long as they have a warm place to shit.
They'll be forgotten in a month, then it'll be back to business as usual.

^Well, that's one way to look at it.

The way I see it, he's running a police state with a scary amount of technology in place that can even track a person's movement while shopping, much less travel. Anybody who gets on their watch list can't so much as fart without them knowing.

You might read up on how much he cares about Uyghurs, Tibetans, free press, Hong Kongers.

You might check into what happened to Jack Ma, his wealth, his businesses (Alibaba and Ant) and his freedom.

You might check into Xi's shenanigans to get himself named ruler for life.

You might check into what Chinese government, banks and businesses are doing to the countries in Africa that are part of the Silk Road initiative.

You might check out how expansive and deep Chinese censorship has gone. They don't just stop at the press or the internet, they affect all means of communication in China. People who say the wrong thing anywhere or at any time can even be arrested for and charged with "thought crimes". They sent to re-education centers and held there until their captors decide they have been sufficiently re-educated.

Leaving out Chinese military aggression (wolf warriors) and unfair trade practices that to my mind the US allowed them to take. Just looking at what is going on right now in China, it looks to me that the kleptocrats have taken hold of China and it's going to go the way of Russia except their enforcement is more effective.
yeah, he's a douche, but in comparison to a lot of other world leaders, he's no worse than most...
like them or not, china exists...as do all the kleptocratic leaders of all the other countries that qualify as such. you have a sense of morals and ethics...you hate them, justifiably, but aren't willing to do whats necessary to get rid of them. not an insult, or a criticism...just an observation, morals and ethics are only a liability when you're dealing with the unethical and immoral....and then only in the practical sense.
my morals and ethics exist, but they seem a little stunted compared to yours. i wouldn't have a lot of problem if there were a series of sanctioned deaths that took care of a few of the worst of them....but you want to be careful picking targets, some countries would be glad to get out from under the thumbs of their horrible leaders, and some would take it personally, and retaliate...i think China would take it personally...russia, not so much...

...you might want to take up a hobby other than reading the news, go fly a kite, get a drone, take a hike....you take this shit too deeply.
that probably makes you a better person than me, probably a much better person than me, but it's starting to make you a little neurotic i think...
i blow off a lot of steam when i get pissed, rant and rave, and recommend a lot of violent solutions, and then i calm down and go on...you don't get nearly as upset as i do, but you never seem to blow a seam...maybe Tai Chi?

taiwan is kind of like the world's Asian friend, and i think a lot of the world would take it personally if you fucked with their friend...

they've supposedly been focusing on getting into hydrogen production, but this doesn't seem like a good way to start....

That is a wonderful question. I have no idea, I have many thoughts going through my mind.

It's almost a sick excitement, I've never felt some of these feelings before. Like some possible impending doom. How are you supposed to feel about that? I haven't yet and so its weird. I would expect some of you would agree.

I absolutely am considering this being the beginning of ww3. And I think collectively, on some level, all of us on planet earth are responsible for making it that way.

We've destroyed this planet and milked it for everything its worth

This coming from somebody who marvels at the face of natural disasters. When mother earth has enough and throws out a tsunami I have to have some respect for her...

what's really scary is, what sort of war might take place to stop Russians from invading America or vice versa? A war of missiles to black out the sky? an internet war to take out power grids as gamers are set up to run a new empire of win theory online to due our political bidding? A swarm of frogs to unite and coat everything in goo? A Kanye West regime to put him in power for the sole purpose of hunting out every Kim Kardashian look-alike?

Any idea on how the Russians feel about this invasion? Like the people. Wonder what the media spin is over there? Should be all over tik tok, but I don't do tik tok.

Putin is a bully. So is Trump. Putin looks less aggressive when he isn't alone. The Russians infiltrated our elections for a reason... That's what I think..
i think that might have been part of the reason, but i'm more inclined to think putin wanted trump in place because it facilitated russian money laundering...trump helped them wash BILLIONS, if not trillions...and how much did trump get paid for this service? inquiring minds are sickened but still want to know

I agree with you... but I think this goes beyond money... Putin has wanted to invade Ukraine for some time. With Trump in power, cowering to him, telling us to stay out of it, might have been some sort of agreement they both had going on under the table. Trump wouldn't stand against Putin and that was obvious. Remember, these top politicians and agencies (CIA, etc) are on a different level of reasoning in this big chess game of life.

I think of the Quiet American by Graham Greene, and the movie ... Never forget, America is up to some shady shit also... we'll see what happens.
