Show Me What You Got LST?

...
I will post some pics later after I update my thread and upload pics.

Here they are yesterday getting trained from LST to the cages, in an excerpt from my last grow journal update. They were actually being trained for going under a single-plant scrog but I think I am going to like these CCOB cages better. One went to flower today and the other one gets 20 more days of veg, because the scrog plant in veg is going to flower next, in 10 days.

.........

I figured I would probably go back to home depot for the couple other screens they had in stock so I decided to do some extreme LST to prepare them for going under a single-plant scrog:

On my way to home depot I decided to go to a local nursery first, and I am glad I did. I got a couple of plant support cages, similar to what Hobbes uses for CCOB. The taller loop cages got trimmed down and put around the 2 single-stalked chronics in veg. The top ring that I trimmed off may have some use as a CCOB ring, in the future, but not today so I used the bottom half instead.

now that is a great update with good pics, i saw it on your thread last night i think but i was just so baked i could t type so i just browsed riu last night. i like the mini scrog things you bought, ive seen others use them and they look to work great for a small single plant scrog.
thanks for the big update, it must have took some time to do your thread then this one so thanks.

looking good man, what is soma roots though? i have an idea of what it is but not sure. if its the top layer of roots sticking out then ok, but i dont know if it is the best thing to have the roots showing that much, they are starting to get green. i know a hydro grower who let some if his roots grow out into the air and water out of the rock wool he used and left the roots to just grow, well the light turned the roots green and after about another week he went and looked and off of the root that was green was a small MJ start, now ive seen other plants reproduce like this but never weed, mabye you will get a second sprout.

Thanks McP, I havent had much to update recently as far as LST is concerned, the AG will be starting 12 12 in about 2 weeks, so she will have some noticable differences then.

i watched a soma grow tip video on youtube and he says that if you keep the roots exposed it helps the plant grow faster and it actually worked out pretty good for me, and looks cool!

im gonna look this soma thing up. i cant dog it since i havent tried it or seen it doen in a side by side experiment to see witch plant grows faster. mabye some one who is currently growing will be interested in trying this? i would do it if i was growing.
so any takers?

he also said it helps the plant get more oxygen to the roots which helps it not get mold

So here are a few pic's of the drippy resins that have coated the entire plant.
Some of the leaves are so heavily coated they almost look like they are plastic or have been dipped in wax.

After transplant

Alright baby, here we go....

1205100040.jpgThis is how it all started. Leaving me with a plant structure like this.the beach and needle 8320.jpg

You want to talk about saving space?
The plant from soil to top is less the 17 inchs.

the beach and needle 8322.jpgthe beach and needle 8319.jpgthe beach and needle 8324.jpg

Thats 6 plants taking over a little more then 1/2 of a 4 x 8 foot print.the beach and needle 8331.jpg
Leaving little room for the next generation.

The next generation being 5 White Widow x Big Buds and a Special Kush. Just getting through their 2nd week of flower, under the double 600 watters. the beach and needle 8332.jpg

the beach and needle 8330.jpgA seed in the hand can be turned into a bush.
And they were right, money doesn't grow on tree's. It grows on bushes.

This is just one of my strawberry coughs. I bent the end of the branch vertically and caused the branch to split halfway off of the meristem(sp?) It didnt seem to have any negative effect on the growth and even below the leaf node, the stem has swollen to compensate. Everything healed nicely too. These plants are pretty damn tough!

I cant wait til it starts flowering! :bigjoint:

here is a pic of my only king kush plant, it was accidentally topped but has been LST's from the start. now it has about 10-11 bud sites, the plant looks alot better than the picture shows :) the plant is about 8inches away from the 400w HPS, being this close i Hope helps alot. from previous grows with lower wattage lights ive noticed how the buds form alot tighter and alot more down the stem from the top canopy. :)
