I just want to see who else cares about the roots like I do. These roots belong to Miss hubble bubbble raised from seed, hpa w/t-5 veg apprx 4 weeks, first main-line prune for two on 10/18 and switched to LED still in mother setting on LED panels now 61 days old in the picture you can see at least 6 of the 8 nice tops.

Anyway these roots are an issue they are fine now but what is going to happen at this rate of growth?

any input would be appreciated

Thanks, and yes 5 gal, I really don't want it to get any bigger, (no room above) I pruned roots earlier on as sister plant with no negative impact, but she was still in veg, I don't know about pruning roots in flower, if at all it was experimental

good idea, did pruning cause the plant to produce fuzzier roots. also what on off times are you using on your misters, those roots look as good as treefarmers.

i also have an experimental setup, its an air assisted pressure fed system. unfortuanalty i dont have time to tinker at the moment as i run a small mushroom farm, and i just got in 8 1K gavita double-enders.

im looking forward to seeing how your grow goes.

Those roots are from Critical Jack by delicious. It took 12 weeks to flower but the smoke was top notch. I had foam in my reservoir too but didn't think it was right. I drained my res and rinsed the roots before putting in new water.
Right on, those look great, would you tell me a little about the plant and harvest quality? I'm dying to see the root ball when this is over.

Thanks a bunch, tree farmer has it going on! After tweaking times. It's pretty much been 5 min off, 2.5 sec+/- on. The hairy roots seem to develop from the 20-50 micron mis. Watching the fine hair roots after a cycle, each hair seems to get a particle of mist, and it sits right sat the tip of the hair until it's gone. The compartments these ladies reside in were designed for easy observation, and I observe, Thanks again always open to ideas and criticism.

Thanks for the come back, with that root mass how did it look in the center. This is my first time with this set up, and have not seen the root mass after the grow.

12 weeks to flower? Do you mean for the buds to finish? color and all, I'm out of height got the last inch this morn, I don't know wtf to do now!

Doc, I grew much bigger roots than plants with hpa, which was a PITA, but I learned a lot. From the various hydro methods I developed one that grows plants from small root balls

This is from a 4ft tall male G13/WHx

Air Pot is one liter, placed inside a 4 liter, as a test. As you can see, roots did not grow into the 4 liter because they were getting all they needed inside the one liter

Thanks for that,
I have roots as healthy as I've seen but they are right up tight to all 3 nozzles, almost like connected, when I lift the lid there is a little impression in the roots that fits on the nozzle. funny thing is the rest of the root mass seems fine, white, moist and vigorous, and the plants seem fine so far. I just can't believe the plant would let being root bound end its career. As tough as these weeds are, I think it was your post awhile back that stated with hydro the sugar leaves aren't needed as much with nutrients supplied 24/7. Thanks PetFlora

also thanks for turning me on to HR powder the ladies seem to like it!

The first pic looking in the root chamber, the darker area in the center was where it is pressing up on the nozzle, i sliced off about a 1/2 " we'll see!

Well I reached in and grabbed the mass of root ball just below 2 of the 3 nozzles and ripped it out! Thought I would see how she responds before doing the 3 rd one

well i just twisted one and a few hits later i don't mind telling you about these crazy roots they grew up to the nozzles that just protrude through the lid maybe 1/4" facing straight down and these fine and very fine roots made it to all three nozzles and actually become quite solid and dense kinda like a cabbage head. In one of the pics you can see the darker area, that part is pretty solid.
..So how much mist could be made that way? toke-toke anyway i carefully pulled out a handful of root including the hard spot, had to pull pretty good too! Now the plant didn't look deprived, this is one of those "I know what the plant needs deals! LOL maybe I have to do weekly root maintenance too! Those roots grow through very fine spaces.

I mentioned how I observed just after a mist cycle, very small solution vapors sitting on the hairs that cover the fine roots, well it's all relative hehehe

Ouch! :cuss:

Would you rather have your pubes trimmed with scissors, or ripped out violently, by an unfriendly hand?

Love your girls and they will love you back
